Tim Roth

Timothy Simon Roth, born on 14 May 1961, is an esteemed English actor and producer. Associated with a group of notable British actors known as the "Brit Pack", he came into prominence after receiving a BAFTA nomination for his film debut The Hit (1984). He subsequently gained recognition through his roles in films such as The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), Vincent & Theo and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (both 1990). Roth has had a successful collaboration with director Quentin Tarantino on several films including Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Four Rooms (1995), and The Hateful Eight (2015). His striking performance in the film Rob Roy(1995) garnered him the BAFTA Award, along with Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations.

In 1999, Roth made his directorial debut with The War Zone. He appeared in the Fox series Lie to Me from 2009 to 2011 and the Sky Atlantic series Tin Star from 2017 to 2020. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he portrayed the character of Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk (2008), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), and the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022). He also played General Thade in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001). Before becoming an actor, Roth wanted to be a sculptor and studied at London's Camberwell College of Arts. He began his career starring in television films in the 1980s and soon gained a distinctive position in the cinematic world.
