Who is Henry's wife in the film?
Within the confines of a high-flying airship laboratory, a man awakens, his mind clouded and fragmented. As clarity begins to return, he discovers he is in the presence of Estelle, a genius scientist who claims to be Henry’s wife. This shocking revelation confounds Henry, who struggles to align his fragmented memories with this new identity. As the aftermath of an accident has left him mute and limbless, he slowly regains his physical capabilities through advanced cybernetic prosthetics. Just when Estelle is about to restore his voice, a merciless group of mercenaries led by the mysterious Akan invades the ship, laying claim to all of her research as corporate property.
“In the world of chance, few are the lucky.”
Akan’s savage methods lead to the downfall of Estelle’s fellow scientists, forcing both her and Henry to escape in a pod that crash-lands in the crowded streets of Moscow. The mercenaries pursue them relentlessly, capturing Estelle and leaving Henry to navigate the chaos alone. Enter Jimmy, a mysterious figure who warns Henry that his cybernetic limbs are rapidly losing power, a dire situation that threatens his very existence.
As Henry maneuvers through the perilous landscape of Moscow’s underworld, he encounters a series of characters known as Jannies. Each Janny presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities — the helpful Jimmy, a charismatic ally who assists in recharging Henry’s cybernetics; another Jimmy, an anxious tech aficionado who provides vital intel regarding Akan’s minions; and a third Jimmy, a troubled individual who offers Henry the necessary fuel to help him sustain his grueling quest.
Meanwhile, Estelle is ensnared in Akan’s grip, with her life hanging by a thread. Driven by his quest for answers and vengeance, Henry plunges deep into Moscow’s dark corners, confronting the myriad challenges posed by Akan’s henchmen. As the stakes skyrocket, his resolve to rescue Estelle and reclaim his former identity becomes a singular obsession, propelling him forward despite overwhelming odds.
Amid the ensuing chaos, Jimmy’s fervent desire for revenge against Akan has him traversing a perilous road. After discovering Henry, whom many had presumed dead, Jimmy’s clones spring into action, guiding Henry to an abandoned hotel and a concealed laboratory. Here, the original Jimmy, confined to a wheelchair, reveals his elaborate scheme of revenge. While his body is incapacitated, his mind remains sharp, having created clones that embody various elements of his personality, and which he controls using a sophisticated headset. A bizarre moment unfolds as Henry finds himself singing and dancing with these duplicates to “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” all the while oblivious to Jimmy’s ulterior motive: to manipulate Henry as a pawn in his scheme against Akan.
As they make their way to Akan’s lair, it becomes clear that Henry has been inadvertently revealing his position to their adversary. They must battle their way through an army of mercenaries, but not without a heavy price, as Jimmy sacrifices himself after imparting a vital piece of information — a memory blocker aimed at gradually restoring Henry’s lost memories.
With his past slowly resurfacing, Henry gears up for a confrontation with Akan and an army of cyborg super-soldiers now programmed with his own memories. This intense scene plays out like a surreal nightmare, with Henry dismantling the soldiers to the rhythm of “Don’t Stop Me Now,” only to face Akan in a climactic showdown. Just as victory seems within reach, Henry sustains severe injuries.
In a shocking twist, Estelle is unveiled as Akan’s wife and the orchestrator behind their nefarious plan to exploit cyborg soldiers for terrorist purposes. The elaborate scheme tests the loyalty of these robotic warriors under the guise of their “wives,” seeking to unleash havoc upon the world.
As Estelle attempts to escape in a helicopter, leaving Henry to succumb to his wounds, fate intervenes. A flashback of his father ignites an indomitable spirit in Henry, driving him to confront Akan. After a savage clash, Henry gains control of Estelle’s helicopter, only to encounter a gruesome twist as she relentlessly shoots him while questioning Akan’s whereabouts. In a fit of rage, Henry stains the wall with his blood, inscribing the letters “EZ,” mocking her taunts. As she reaches for him, Henry fortuitously slams the door shut, sending her plummeting to her demise.
In a haunting post-credits scene, a recording from Jimmy emerges, indicating that Henry has yet another mission to undertake, leaving audiences questioning the new challenges that await this battered yet resilient hero.
