Victor Garber

**Victor Garber**, OC (born March 16, 1949) is a renowned Canadian stage and film actor and singer. Recognized for his impressive work both on stage and screen, Garber's talent has been acknowledged through nominations for three Gemini Awards, four Tony Awards, and six Primetime Emmy Awards. He was honored as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2022. Garber has starred in significant Broadway productions such as 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' (1979), 'Noises Off' (1983), 'Lend Me a Tenor' (1989), 'Arcadia' (1995), and 'Art' (1998). He garnered wide acclaim for his performances in the play 'Deathtrap' (1978), the Neil Simon musical 'Little Me' (1982), the comedic play 'Lend Me a Tenor' in 1989 and the musical comedy revival of 'Damn Yankees' in 1994. Garber made his first film appearance as Jesus Christ in the musical 'Godspell' (1973). Since then, he has appeared in critically acclaimed films like 'Titanic' (1997), 'Milk' (2008), and 'Argo' (2012), winning a Screen Actors Guild Award for 'Argo.' On television, Garber is well-known for his role as Jack Bristow in the ABC series 'Alias' and Martin Stein / Firestorm in the superhero series 'The Flash' and 'Legends of Tomorrow'. He started his acting journey at the age of nine, studied acting at the University of Toronto and New York's HB Studio. He has successfully carved a niche for himself within the music industry as well, debuting as a folk singer and forming The Sugar Shoppe band in 1967.
