Babu began his career as an assistant director in the Lollu Sabha, spending two years writing scenes before making his feature film debut in the Ameer-starring movie 'Yogi' in 2009. His performance as an aspiring actor was well-received, and he subsequently adopted the title of the film as a prefix to his stage name. He continued on to appear as different characters in a variety of films, including roles as a goon in 'Paiyaa', a pimp in Sundar C's 'Kalakalappu', and a comedy rival to Sivakarthikeyan in 'Maan Karate'.
