Pradeep Loharia, portrayed by Abhishek Banerjee, is a dedicated salesperson working at a local fashion retail store known as “Delight Wear.” He is assigned to the ladies’ section, where he puts in considerable effort to maintain a clean and organized environment, often picking up the slack for his irresponsible colleague, Shanty. Living in challenging conditions in the slums, Pradeep shares a cramped room while navigating through life without ever having had a romantic interest.
The arrival of a female mannequin sparks a change in Pradeep; he becomes infatuated with her, even naming her “Pari.” His strange affection leads him to engage in conversations with the mannequin, sharing details about his life in Gadarwara, MP. Pradeep goes to great lengths to decorate her with jewelry, believing that it would attract more customers. In a whimsical gesture, he even takes Pari out for a date at the beach, unbeknownst to the observing Shanty.
However, Pradeep’s unusual behavior does not go unnoticed. The store owner, Jay Upadhyay, confronts him after monitoring his interactions with the mannequin via CCTV. Pradeep pleads to keep his job but is subsequently banned from the women’s section. Following a series of mishaps, including a fight with Shanty, he ends up losing his job altogether.
Returning to his village, Pradeep confides in his childhood friend, Sashi (T.J. Bhanu), about his dismissal, and in a turn of events, Sashi agrees to marry him. But when he desperately reaches out to the store owner for his job back, he discovers that the beloved mannequin, Pari, has been disposed of. Shanty, now remorseful for his actions, reveals the truth about Pari’s fate. Determined, Pradeep scours the markets until he eventually finds her in a costume shop, where he bids her a heartfelt farewell, acknowledging that it’s time to move on despite his affection.
Meanwhile, Nandu, played by Delzad Hiwale, lives a life devoted to working in a local cinema hall, managing ticket sales and snacks while supporting his alcoholic uncle. On the other hand, Manjari, portrayed by Rinku Rajguru, resides in a cramped space with her large family and dreams of attending college. Fate brings them together when Manjari retrieves her forgotten purse from Nandu at the cinema, leading to an exchange that blossoms into young love filled with fantasy.
In their poignant story, they dream about a life together, yet reality soon confronts them. Manjari’s struggles escalate when her mother confines her to their home, and Nandu, beset by familial duties, faces a harsh awakening regarding his ability to provide for them. Their romantic escapade culminates in a bittersweet moment at a bus station, where Nandu selflessly gives Manjari a ticket to Surat and returns to his life in the cinema, realizing that love often requires sacrifice.
Lastly, the marriage between Tanu, played by Zoya Hussain, and Arjun, portrayed by Nikhil Dwivedi, is plagued by apathy, with tension peaking during an anniversary where Tanu suspects infidelity upon discovering that Arjun purchased two necklaces. With the help of Manav, played by Kunal Kapoor, who is tied to Natasha, Arjun’s alleged lover, they unite in their suspicion-fueled investigation.
As Tanu and Manav get closer while unearthing the scandalous intentions of their spouses, they ultimately confront their feelings, leading to an affair that complicates their lives even more. Tanu’s desires for independence clash with her dependency on Arjun’s identity, prompting her to reevaluate everything she thought she wanted. The narratives of longing, infidelity, and self-discovery weave together in a tapestry of modern relationships, leaving them all with poignant realizations about love, loyalty, and the choice to break free from the chains that bind them.
