In the small town of a rundown motel, Chloe (single mother) navigates the treacherous landscape of her daily life alongside her daughter Sophia. The establishment, her lifeline, is where she finds solace and a means to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Topo, a blind individual accompanied by his associate Quincy, rolls into town in their trusty Jeep. The duo stops at Chloe's motel, with Quincy indulging in the services of local prostitute Gwen, convincing Topo to spend the night. As the evening unfolds, an argument erupts between Quincy and Gwen, culminating in a fatal shooting that awakens Chloe to the gruesome scene.

Chloe's world is turned upside down as she stumbles upon the lifeless bodies of Gwen and Quincy. The police soon arrive on the scene, and in a somber tone, Billy (her police acquaintance and Gwen's pimp) attempts to downplay the circumstances. However, Chloe refuses to back down, citing her own struggles as a single mother and her fear of losing custody of Sophia. As tensions simmer, Topo emerges from the shadows, his vision clouded by more than just physical impairment.

The following day, Topo takes Chloe and Sophia hostage in a desperate bid to recover his stolen Jeep. As they stake out Billy's residence, Chloe agrees to retrieve the vehicle from the police department, only to be met with resistance and deceit. With Sophia watching TV, Chloe is forced to confront her own demons as she navigates the treacherous underbelly of their small town.

As the days blend together, Chloe learns more about Topo's mysterious past, piecing together the truth that he is a courier tasked with delivering bundles of cash. In a moment of desperation and calculation, Chloe proposes an unlikely alliance to Topo: she will help him recover his stolen goods in exchange for a share of the profits. Topo, driven by his impairment and a sense of resignation, agrees to her proposal.

As they delve deeper into the mystery surrounding Quincy's death and Billy's culpability, Chloe finds solace in her newfound partnership with Topo. However, their fragile bond is tested when Topo discovers Chloe's hidden stash of emergency funds. The next morning, they stake out once more, uncovering a web of deceit and corruption that threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.

As the stakes escalate, Chloe finds herself trapped in an alleyway, cornered by Billy and his cohorts. It is then that Topo appears, his blindness replaced by a steely determination. With Amber's intervention foiled, Topo and Chloe join forces once more, infiltrating Billy's residence to claim their prize. The tension builds as they navigate the treacherous landscape, always staying one step ahead of their enemies.

In the end, it is Topo who emerges victorious, claiming the spoils of his stolen goods and departing with Donnie, his associate, leaving Chloe to pick up the pieces and rebuild her shattered world.

As chaos erupts, Chloe seizes the opportunity to seek justice by contacting the authorities, informing them that she was once held captive. The police respond by dispatching a squad car to her location, providing her with a sense of security as they scour Billy's residence for any signs of him. Meanwhile, Topo and Donnie unwittingly stumble into an encounter with Jacques, a ruthless Québécois mafia leader, and his cohorts in a deserted parking lot. The situation quickly turns dire as the mafia discovers that Topo has been shortchanged by fifty grand - a sum that Chloe had cleverly set aside as her share of the ill-gotten gains.

As tensions escalate, Jacques menacingly threatens Topo's life, prompting the desperate individual to take drastic measures and eliminate his tormentors. The aftermath of this brutal confrontation sees Topo returning to the motel, where he is met with a mixture of surprise and concern by Chloe as she prepares to depart with Sophia. However, their reunion is short-lived, as Billy reappears out of the shadows, unleashing a hail of gunfire that leaves Topo and Donnie severely wounded.

As Billy's grip tightens around Chloe's neck, she musters every ounce of strength to push him away, sending him crashing through a glass door in a fatal tumble. With her would-be assassin incapacitated, Chloe swiftly sets the scene to appear as though the encounter had spiralled out of control, before whisking Sophia away into the safety of a taxi bound for an unknown destination.
