In a desperate bid to support their terminally ill mother, 17-year-old Matt coerces his 14-year-old brother Joey into committing a brazen robbery at a remote property being fumigated. However, their illicit adventure takes an unexpected turn when security guard Dave Hamby (Dave) gives chase through the surrounding forest, only to tumble into an abandoned well. As Joey feels pangs of guilt over leaving the injured guard trapped, Matt insists on abandoning Dave, fearing he might reveal the brothers' criminal escapade to the authorities. Despite this, Joey secretly visits Dave, bringing him vital supplies and a makeshift communication device.
