Rainn Percival Dietrich Wilson (born January 20, 1966) is a multi-talented American personality known for his contributions as an actor, comedian, podcaster, producer, writer, and director. He gained significant recognition for his role as Dwight Schrute on the NBC sitcom The Office (2005–2013), a role that earned him three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Born and raised in Seattle, Wilson began his acting career at the University of Washington and made his mark in theatre in New York City post his graduation in 1986. His film debut came with the movie Galaxy Quest (1999), marking the beginning of an illustrious career with roles in numerous films and TV series. Wilson reprised his role as Dwight Schrute until the conclusion of The Office in 2013, while also landing roles in films like The Rocker (2008), Super (2010), and the horror films Cooties (2014) and The Boy (2015). He published his autobiography, The Bassoon King, in 2015 and is also the co-founder of digital media company SoulPancake since 2008. Venture into other genres also came effortlessly to Wilson, with a guest-starring role as Harry Mudd on Star Trek: Discovery (2017) and Star Trek: Short Treks (2018), and giving voice to Lex Luthor in the DC Animated Movie Universe.
