Plot Summary

As Clara Wood (Marilyn Burns), who had previously turned down a vile request from Buck, found herself forcibly expelled from the local brothel run by the ruthless Miss Hattie. Alone and feeling abandoned, Clara sought shelter in the decrepit Starlight Hotel, hidden deep in the eerie swamps of rural Texas. However, her situation took a dire turn when she encountered the hotel’s unhinged proprietor, Judd. Following a shocking attack with a pitchfork, Clara was chased outside, where she unwittingly fell prey to Judd’s pet Nile crocodile, lurking ominously in the swamp’s murky depths.

Days passed, and a distressed couple, Faye and her husband Roy, along with their ailing young daughter Angie, arrived at the Starlight Hotel. Their innocent dog, Snoopy, met a tragic end at the jaws of the ravenous crocodile, sending shivers throughout the hotel. Consumed by fury and despair, Roy confronted the creature but met a gruesome fate himself when Judd, armed with a deadly scythe, brutally ended his life. Meanwhile, the hotel’s dark ambiance worsened as Faye found herself restrained, while Judd cast a sinister gaze toward their terrified daughter Angie.

The plot thickened with the arrival of Harvey Wood, searching for his missing daughter Clara, and his daughter Libby. When they sought answers from Miss Hattie and Judd, they were met with lies and silenced truths. As Sheriff Martin investigated separately alongside Libby, Harvey ventured back into the hotel, only to unearth the horrifying sight of Faye bound in her room. Tragically, his attempt to rescue her ended in his own death at the hands of Judd’s merciless blade.

Meanwhile, Buck resurfaced with his underage girlfriend Lynette, aggravating Judd even further. As Buck caught wind of the desperate cries from Faye and Angie, Judd unleashed his fury once again, shoving him into the swamp, making him yet another victim of the insatiable crocodile. Lynette fled into the woods, pursued by Judd until a car appeared through the fog, providing her a narrow escape from certain doom.

As night enveloped the Starlight Hotel, Libby returned to find Faye and Angie in a harrowing plight. With quick thinking, Libby freed Faye while rescuing Angie from an unsafe position beneath the creaky porch. However, their moment of relief was short-lived as Judd’s frenzied pursuit drove the three deeper into the unforgiving swamp. In an unforeseen twist, the predatory relationship between Judd and his crocodile culminated in a shocking end, with the creature claiming Judd in a grotesque finale. Just as the chaos unfolded, Sheriff Martin arrived at the hotel, rescuing Libby, Faye, and Angie from the nightmarish grasp of madness.

As the film draws to a close, a chilling reminder of Judd’s fate lingers in the air - his prosthetic leg emerging like a ghostly specter from the depths of the swamp, a harrowing token of his tragic story.
