Check out what happened in Good Boy!!

In a small town where his family's nomadic lifestyle has left him with few lasting connections, 12-year-old Owen Baker finds solace in his tireless dedication to earning the privilege of owning a dog of his own. His unwavering efforts ultimately yield the reward he desires: a scruffy Border Terrier named Hubble, whose unorthodox arrival sparks an extraordinary chain of events. As Owen navigates the complexities of childhood, including bullies Frankie and Fred, he finds comfort in his friendship with Connie Flemming, a kindred spirit who lives just down the street.

However, Hubble's true nature soon becomes apparent: this is no ordinary canine. A product of outer space, Hubble possesses an unsettling intelligence that awakens Owen to a reality far more astonishing than he ever could have imagined. As Owen learns to decipher Hubble's cryptic language, he discovers that his new companion is not just any dog, but Canid 3942, a messenger from the Dog Star Sirius 7 with a sacred mission.

As Owen walks the neighborhood dogs - pampered Poodle Barbara Ann, rambunctious Boxer Wilson, nervous Italian Greyhound Nelly, and Connie's gassy Bernese Mountain Dog Shep - he begins to unravel the mysteries of Hubble's past. Canid 3942 has been sent by the enigmatic Greater Dane to ensure that dogs have fulfilled their ancient destiny: to colonize and dominate Earth.

But as Owen and his newfound friends attempt to convince Hubble that everything is in order, they soon realize the awful truth: dogs on this planet are nothing more than pets. The gravity of this revelation is only compounded by Hubble's discovery that the Greater Dane herself is poised to inspect the canine population on Earth. Should her expectations not be met, she will summon all dogs back to their celestial homeland.

In a desperate bid to salvage the situation, Owen and Hubble must band together with Connie and their canine companions to whip the neighborhood dogs into shape for the impending visit from the Greater Dane and her loyal Chinese Crested Dog henchman. As tensions build and the stakes grow higher, this unlikely quintet must join forces to ensure that Earth's dogs are worthy of the Great Dane's approval.

As Owen's pleas fall flat, the enigmatic Greater Dane decides to retract her gift of canine companionship from the planet, summoning all dogs back to their celestial home. Crushed by this sudden turn of events, Owen sets about repairing Hubble's damaged communication device and pours out his heart in a heartfelt message declaring his undying love for the canine companion. The Greater Dane's curiosity is piqued by Owen's emotional outpouring, leading her to seek Hubble's counsel on why the dogs on Earth have surrendered their natural dominance over humanity, choosing instead to form a bond of love and loyalty with their human counterparts. Hubble's insight is that humans and dogs have formed a symbiotic relationship built upon trust, mutual respect, and devotion.

When asked to reveal his own allegiances, Hubble makes a telling request: he asks the Greater Dane to address him simply as Hubble, eschewing his former designation as Canid 3942. This subtle but significant shift speaks volumes about the depth of his bond with Owen, a connection that transcends mere species or classification. The Greater Dane is moved by this display of affection and subsequently returns the Earth dogs to their rightful place, reclassifying them as a unique breed worthy of recognition. As part of the agreement, Hubble is permitted to return to Earth, but only on the condition that he remove Owen's ability to communicate with canines.

In a surprising turn of events, Owen's parents choose to remain behind, forsaking their usual itinerant lifestyle in favor of putting down roots. As Hubble begins to assimilate into his new surroundings, blending seamlessly into the fabric of Earth society as one of its own canine inhabitants, he finds himself slowly shedding his former identity as a celestial being and embracing his newfound role as a member of the pack.
