As Aimie navigates the frigid streets of Toronto alongside her recently divorced mother, the 15-year-old Korean immigrant struggles to find solace in her new surroundings. The stark contrast between the bustling metropolis she left behind in Korea and this snow-covered Canadian city leaves her feeling adrift and disconnected from the world around her. Her longing for her father, who remains an enigmatic figure in their lives, only exacerbates her feelings of loneliness.

Amidst this sea of uncertainty, Aimie finds a glimmer of comfort in her friendship with Tran (actor's name), a fellow Korean immigrant who has seamlessly adapted to his new life in Toronto. As the two teens form a bond, Aimie begins to develop romantic feelings for Tran, but her trepidation about committing to a relationship is palpable. This ambivalence manifests in a series of mixed signals and passive-aggressive behaviors, as each expects the other to intuitively understand their emotions, only to be left feeling frustrated and unheard.

As Tran's interests shift towards more outgoing Korean girls who embody the quintessential "Americanized" teenager, Aimie's insecurities are further fueled. Her relationships with her mother and father - now estranged from one another - become increasingly strained, while her growing sense of isolation threatens to consume her. The once-strong bond she shared with Tran begins to fray, leaving Aimie feeling like a stranger in this foreign land, torn between her desire for human connection and her fear of being hurt again.
