In a world devastated by the catastrophic effects of climate change, humanity struggles to survive in fabricated shelters and artificially created spaces. As chaos reigns in 80 of these precarious habitats, one faction, the Adrian Republic, launches a merciless attack on both the environment and other surviving shelters, igniting a brutal civil war against the Allied Forces.

Among the valiant fighters is Captain Yun Jung-yi, a tenacious mercenary who has celebrated numerous victories against the Adrian Republic. However, beneath her tough demeanor lies a profound vulnerability: her daughter, Yun Seo-hyun, is battling a terminal lung tumor. Consumed by the need to provide for her daughter’s medical treatment, Jung-yi immerses herself in her dangerous mercenary work. Tragedy strikes when she fails a crucial mission on the day Seo-hyun is meant to have a life-saving surgery, leading to her daughter’s coma.

Fast forward to 2194, where an innovative institute named Kronoid proposes to clone Jung-yi’s brain, offering to support not just Seo-hyun’s education and living costs, but also Jung-yi’s medical needs. This initiative leads to the birth of AI Jung_E, an android brought to life using Jung-yi’s cerebral data. Dr. Yun Seo-hyun, now a distinguished researcher, takes charge of the Jung_E project, determined to transform her mother’s legacy from one of failure to a tale of heroism.

As the team at Kronoid meticulously recreates Jung-yi’s final mission in a simulation, they hope to extract crucial battle data from her brain patterns. However, just like her mother, AI Jung_E finds herself failing when it mimics Captain Jung-yi’s last stand. This cycle of failure becomes a chilling reminder of the past.

When Seo-hyun is faced with the heartbreaking news that her childhood cancer has returned, she has just three months to rectify her past. Meanwhile, as the Adrian Republic and Allied Forces seek to draft a peace treaty, the priorities at Kronoid shift dramatically, moving away from combat AI to focus on domestic services. Among the turmoil, Seo-hyun uncovers troubling secrets about a teammate engaging in illicit activities with a Jung_E robot, raising unsettling questions about the potential use of these advanced models.

In a bold move, Seo-hyun escapes the facility, commandeering a Jung_E robot while evading relentless combat robots and security forces. As tensions soar, the project’s director, Kim Sang-Hoon, is unveiled as possessing an AI brain, blurring the boundaries between mankind and machine. In a suspenseful confrontation, Kim meets his end at the hands of the clever Jung_E, ultimately resulting in a train crash that seals his fate, while Seo-hyun urges Jung_E to abandon her and survive in this perilous new existence.

With a heavy heart, Jung_E complies, seeking refuge on a rugged rock formation overlooking a breathtaking mountain range. This once-comatose robot awakens to its own identity, gazing over the expansive landscape with an unsettling awareness of its own existence.
