Plot Summary

In the gritty underbelly of Mumbai, two orphaned assassins, Tutu (Ali Zafar](/actor/ali-zafar)) and Dev Sharma (Ranveer Singh), were brought up by the shrewd gangster Bhaiyaji (Govinda), instilling in them a life of ruthlessness as hitmen. Their existence was a relentless cycle of violence and treachery until a chance encounter with [Disha (Parineeti Chopra) at a seedy nightclub ignited a series of events that would forever change their destinies. Dev’s unexpected attraction to the mysterious Disha ignited a forbidden romance, which ultimately put him at odds with the very life that defined him, as Bhaiyaji grew increasingly worried about Dev’s escalating detachment from their lethal lifestyle.

As Dev’s resolve weakened, escalating tensions with Bhaiyaji reached a fever pitch. The seasoned gangster sensed that his prized protégés were close to abandoning him, and he expressed his fury directed at Dev through intimidation tactics. Tutu remained staunchly loyal and protective of his friend, yet their bond was tested as Dev resolved to leave their asassination work behind—a choice that promised to have deep repercussions.

When Dev faltered and hesitated on the job, unable to pull the trigger on a target, Bhaiyaji’s fury knew no boundaries. In a drastic move to reclaim Dev, he issued a death threat: return to their deadly ways or face fatal consequences. Surprisingly, Tutu stepped in with a compromise that could allow Dev the chance to pursue a different life while still catering to Bhaiyaji’s demands.

Tutu’s ingenious solution was to fabricate an MBA qualification, granting Dev a position at an insurance company. As Dev and Disha began to dream of their shared future, blissfully ignorant of Dev’s violent past, Bhaiyaji meticulously plotted to drag them back into their dark reality. He ordered his henchman, Batuk, to kill Dev and subsequently laid bare Dev’s history to Disha.

Just when Batuk was about to deliver the lethal blow, Tutu intervened, successfully eliminating the assassin in front of a shocked Disha. The truth splintered her idealized vision, prompting her to end their relationship, which pushed Dev back into a familiar cycle of violence. As destiny would have it, Bhaiyaji’s hatred towards Dev drew the attention of his nemesis, Baban Pehlwan, who was poised to capitalize on the chaos.

In an effort to win Disha back, both Dev and Tutu recorded a heartfelt video outlining their tumultuous history, desperately seeking forgiveness. Yet in the chaos of a fierce confrontation, Dev found himself once again unable to fire his weapon, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tutu rushed him to the hospital where he received life-saving surgery.

During Dev’s recovery, Disha remained by his side, slowly reigniting the love between them. Meanwhile, Bhaiyaji met his end at the hands of Baban Pehlwan. In the resolution that followed, Dev and Disha exchanged loving vows in a touching ceremony, while Tutu set forth on a new chapter, securing a job interview at the very insurance company that offered Dev his momentary peace.
