Check out what happened in Raising Helen!

Helen Harris, an executive assistant living life on her own terms, is suddenly thrust into a new reality when her sister Lindsay's unexpected passing leaves behind three young children. The eldest sister Jenny, who had been raising Helen and their youngest sibling since childhood, is now tasked with helping Helen navigate this unfamiliar terrain. The siblings' differing approaches to motherhood are laid bare as they discover Lindsay's will, which appoints Helen the guardian of her children - a decision that sends shockwaves through both women.

As Helen trades in her Manhattan lifestyle for a quieter existence in Queens, she struggles to adapt to her new role as a full-time caregiver. Her work performance begins to suffer, and eventually, she's forced to hang up her executive assistant hat for good, taking on a more humble position at a car dealership. Tensions between the sisters come to a head when they disagree on the best way to raise the young ones, leading them to stop speaking altogether.

However, with the help of Dan Parker (character name), the children's school principal and pastor, Helen slowly begins to find her footing as a mother. She also starts to rediscover her own sense of purpose outside of work. Meanwhile, oldest child Audrey starts to gravitate towards the wrong crowd at school, and when she goes missing after prom, Helen is forced to swallow her pride and seek Jenny's assistance - a move that ultimately leads to her handing over custody of the children.

As Helen returns to her old life, she begins to realize that her newfound sense of purpose has been replaced by emptiness. Desperate for a second chance, she shows up at Jenny's doorstep, determined to reclaim her role as a mother and take control of the situation. However, Jenny asks her to reflect on her actions, leaving Helen feeling lost once more.

It isn't until Helen spends a contemplative evening in the nearby park that she's approached by Jenny, who shares Lindsay's letter with her. The revelation explains why Lindsay chose Helen, despite their vastly different personalities, as the perfect guardian for her children - someone who embodies the spirit of their mother and can provide the children with a sense of continuity and familiarity.

As the dawn breaks on a new day, Jenny (character) finally finds solace in embracing her reality. With the weight of her emotions lifted, she sets out to reunite the children with Helen, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter for the trio. As they return home, a sense of belonging and warmth settles over them like a comforting blanket. The air is filled with the sweet scent of acceptance as they begin to weave their lives together, forming a tapestry of love and support that will only continue to grow stronger with each passing day.
