As Gigaler.com employee Griffin pairs up with new intern Mark to conduct video interviews with company co-founders Tom and Chris, the startup’s mission to create a predictive algorithm curating custom video content for their homepage visitors begins to take shape. Meanwhile, an anonymous source sends Griffin a purported snuff film featuring a blonde woman in white preparing to take her own life in a cemetery. The video culminates in a startling jump scare as a masked figure lunges at the camera, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.

The unexpected success of this “screamer” video prompts Tom, Chris, and their colleagues to decide to share it on their site, which promptly goes viral and propels Gigaler’s popularity to new heights. Griffin then receives a second video featuring the same blonde woman, only to be startled once again by the masked figure’s sudden appearance.

In an effort to establish contact with the enigmatic creator of these videos and potentially secure exclusive content, Tom tasks programmer Abbi with tracing the source of the uploads. After some diligent digital detective work, Abbi uncovers the identity of the uploader, leading Tom to make a phone call that will change everything. On the other end of the line is Tara, a nervous and guarded individual who cryptically references Francis, the mysterious figure behind the videos.

Despite her evasive nature, Tara’s comments about Francis only serve to pique Tom’s curiosity, particularly when combined with the eerie resemblance between the woman in the video and Tara Rogers, a missing person from several years prior. As concerns mount that they may be connected to a real-life crime, Tom decides to confront Tara directly, but his efforts are met with a curt warning: “Don’t call me again.”

Abbi’s further research yields a surprising discovery - the tombstone in the first video belongs to Francis Tumuelty, a suspect in the Jack the Ripper case. Convinced that they’ve been duped by a prankster all along, Tom and his team begin to unravel the mystery surrounding the hoax.

Despite their initial shock giving way to amusement, Tom remains determined to turn this bizarre experience into content that will drive traffic to Gigaler.com. He convinces Chris, Griffin, and Abbi to join him on a trip to Rochester, New York, where they plan to confront Tara about the prank and capture the encounter on camera. However, things take an unexpected turn when Tom surprises everyone with a nighttime visit to Tara’s address, only to be met with silence. The quartet departs, leaving many questions unanswered.

As the evening wears on at Emma’s residence, Tom (actor name), Chris, Griffin, and Abbi gather around the dinner table, their conversation revolving around the enigmatic Tara Rogers. The air is filled with a sense of camaraderie as they share stories and laughter, momentarily forgetting the eerie atmosphere that has been building throughout their ordeal.

The next day, Tom and Griffin decide to pay a visit to Tara’s address, hoping to uncover some answers about her mysterious disappearance. Upon arriving at the house, they find the side door unlocked, prompting Tom to insist that Griffin accompany him inside. As they enter, they’re met with an unsettling scene: a mantle littered with melted candles and a pantry filled with jars bearing gruesome, bloody contents.

Their exploration of the premises continues upstairs, where they stumble upon the same bedroom depicted in the infamous second Scream video. Tom’s car alarm suddenly blares to life outside, prompting him to leave Griffin alone in the bedroom while he attends to the noise. Little do they know, however, that Francis is lying in wait, ready to strike.

As Tom returns to the bedroom, Francis launches a surprise attack on both Tom and Griffin, sending them scrambling for cover. Meanwhile, back at Emma’s, Abbi reveals a chilling video to Chris, which shows someone lurking outside Tara’s house the previous evening. The group soon receives a text message from Tom’s phone, beckoning them to return to Tara’s address.

Emma volunteers to drive Chris, Abbi, and herself to the location, where they’re met with an unexpected surprise: Abbi discovers Tara curled up and crying in an upstairs bedroom. However, their reunion is short-lived, as Francis suddenly attacks Chris, prompting the women to flee for their lives. Both Emma and Abbi are subsequently chased down and attacked by Francis.

As if things couldn’t get any more bizarre, a new Scream video appears online, featuring Abbi taking Tara’s place as the woman in white standing mournfully in front of Francis’ grave. The group is left reeling from the latest development, their understanding of reality slowly unraveling as they’re forced to confront the dark forces that have taken over their lives.
