As a mysterious event unfolds, seven strangers, each leading seemingly separate lives, receive an enigmatic letter that includes half of a thousand-dollar bill, an invitation to a lavish estate, and promises of unimaginable wealth and rewards. Upon their arrival at the extravagant mansion, they are met with a note indicating that their enigmatic host, identified only as “J.M.”, will soon appear to clarify the purpose of their unexpected gathering. As they settle into their designated rooms, speculation runs high about the true reason behind their assembly. Whispers suggest that their meeting is rooted in a centuries-old tontine, tied to the tragic demise of relatives who lost their lives in a catastrophic hotel fire during a prior annual gathering.

Amid the building tension, an intimate encounter between Trevor and Priscilla takes place in one of the bedrooms, while a secret affair unfolds between Joy and Inspector #6—the latter amusingly caught in the act of trying on women’s lingerie when Joy unexpectedly walks in. However, the mystery deepens when the inspector meets a grisly fate, either falling down the stairs by accident or being pushed, his lifeless form mysteriously disappearing after the other guests discover him. With danger looming and uncertainty creeping in, the remaining guests resolve to stay, motivated by a shared yearning for wealth and answers.

In the chaos, Slick and Sugar sneak away for an illicit rendezvous, but tragedy strikes when Priscilla is found dead, electrocuted by a tampered vibrator. Determined to find clues surrounding her untimely death, Slick and Sugar attempt to develop the film from Priscilla’s instant camera, as Trevor numbs his grief with a glass of spiked wine. Joy then lures Doctor Rivameter into a heated encounter on the very bed now occupied by the deceased Priscilla and Trevor, but their passionate moment is cut short by muffled screams echoing from another room.

Rivameter soon makes a gruesome discovery—Sugar’s lifeless body, drowned in a sink. As they piece together the puzzle, they suspect that Slick might be the culprit; however, he stumbles in, a spike lodged in his skull and a knife buried in his back, only to collapse lifelessly. Yet, in a shocking twist, he miraculously revives to unveil a startling truth: all the supposed victims orchestrated their own deaths to evade an imaginary killer, a scheme devised by none other than Inspector #6, whose earlier tumble merely left him unconscious.

As Jacob Myers arrives at the lavish estate, he confidently reveals himself as the attorney charged with untangling the complex threads of the tontine case. His commanding presence and words leave no doubt about his role in orchestrating the mysterious summons. The once-mighty remains of the tontine’s wealth have dwindled to a mere shadow of its former glory—represented only by the thousand-dollar bills sent to the descendants, a stark reminder of a disastrous investment gone awry. Fate appears to have dealt a cruel blow, leaving only a faint glimmer of hope.

Amidst this sobering reality, Joy finds herself captivated by Myers’ intriguing demeanor, following him to his chambers as her curiosity ignites. Meanwhile, the remaining guests, seeking a temporary escape from their grim prospects, decide to indulge in an orgy—an extravagant distraction that serves to mask the crushing weight of their uncertain futures.
