Stroker Ace Quiz: Test your knowledge on the film 'Stroker Ace' and its thrilling journey through NASCAR and fast-food marketing.

What is the primary occupation of Stroker Ace?

Plot Summary

Stroker Ace, a fiery and fearless NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver from Waycross, Georgia, is a force to be reckoned with on the track. His #7 Ford Thunderbird has earned him three championships, but his cocky demeanor often overshadows his impressive skills. Stoker’s arch-nemesis, Aubrey James (driver of the #10 Four-Star Whiskey Buick Regal), is determined to outmaneuver him and prove himself as a top contender.

When Stroker’s arrogance gets the better of him, he finds himself at odds with Jim Catty of Zenon Oil, his current sponsor. Seeking revenge, Stoker dumps a load of wet concrete on Catty, leaving him no choice but to seek new backing. Enter Clyde Torkle, a fried-chicken mogul with deep pockets and an eye for marketing genius. Alongside his trusty chauffeur, Arnold, and newly appointed director of marketing and public relations, Pembrook Feeny, Torkle convinces Stoker and his chief mechanic, Lugs Harvey, to join forces.

However, Stroker’s failure to read the fine print in his contract leads him down a path of unintended consequences. He becomes the face of Chicken Pit fast-food restaurants, complete with the slogan “The Fastest Chicken in the South” emblazoned on his car. As part of his deal, he must make personal appearances, including donning a chicken costume from head to toe. Realizing he’s trapped in a bad deal, Stoker concocts a plan with Lugs to wriggle free.

Torkle, however, has other plans for the charismatic driver. He sees Stoker as the key to regional fame and fortune for his Chicken Pit franchise, allowing him to milk Stoker’s antics for all they’re worth. Meanwhile, Stroker finds himself drawn to Pembrook, a beautiful Sunday School teacher who just happens to be a virgin. Despite her initial rebuff of his charms, he eventually wins her over by showing respect for her values.

As the season reaches its climax, Stoker is on a roll, racking up victories under the Chicken Pit banner and vying for the championship title. Just as things are looking up, Torkle receives an offer to sell his franchise at a handsome profit – on one condition: he must dump Stroker Ace from his team. With the stakes higher than ever, Stoker is forced to choose between winning the championship and securing his future or selling out for the sake of the Chicken Pit empire.

As the adrenaline-fueled competition reaches its climax, internal turmoil besets Stroker’s psyche. He deliberately slows down in an attempt to relinquish control, yet his unyielding ego refuses to yield, prompting him to surge back through the pack with a renewed sense of determination. A mechanical mishap subsequently sends Stoker tumbling to sixth place, with time swiftly running out. Meanwhile, Torkle, oblivious to the true stakes, publicly declares that he is releasing Stroker from his contractual obligations, unaware that the latter is quietly mounting a comeback with a legitimate chance at victory.

In a stunning turn of events, as the news of his liberation spreads like wildfire, Stoker seizes the opportunity to cap off an improbable comeback in resplendent fashion by executing a daring roll-over maneuver as he crosses the finish line, securing the championship. Torkle’s jubilation is short-lived, however, as he discovers that the lucrative offer for his chicken franchise was nothing more than a ruse concocted by Stoker and his cohorts.
