Who is the main character of the movie?
As Johnny X (Will Keenan) and his loyal entourage of extraterrestrial misfits assumed the guise of a rowdy gang, they embarked on a desert escapade behind the wheel of their trusty ride. Meanwhile, at a quaint diner, Bliss (De Anna Joy Brooks), Johnny’s erstwhile paramour, turned to Chip (Les Williams), an unsuspecting employee, with a tantalizing proposition: abandon their mundane lives and hit the open road together. However, Johnny’s arrival on the scene, accompanied by his gang, swiftly derailed Bliss’s plans, as he exploited his mysterious glove’s powers to ensnare her. Chip’s timely intervention, involving a strategically placed vehicle and some deft maneuvering, managed to disable the glove and liberate Bliss from Johnny’s grasp.
As the pair fled to an abandoned drive-in movie theater, Bliss revealed the shocking truth behind Johnny’s relentless pursuit: he had invented a “resurrection suit” capable of subjugating anyone bearing special metal implants. She had purloined the majority of the device, leaving Johnny with only the right-hand glove, which prompted his desperate bid for control. Chip and Bliss soon found themselves in the crosshairs of King Clayton (Reggie Bannister), a charismatic concert promoter, who offered to furnish them with crucial intel on Bliss’s whereabouts in exchange for a favor.
Clayton’s request was steeped in sentimental value: he implored Johnny to utilize the resurrection suit to commandeer the lifeless form of his idol and rock legend, Mickey O’Flynn (Creed Bratton), whose sudden passing had left him bereft. Johnny agreed to this uncharacteristic act of altruism, believing that it would ultimately facilitate his own gang’s return to their home planet.
However, Sluggo (Jed Rowen), a gang member with an insatiable thirst for chaos, inadvertently overloaded the resurrection suit during O’Flynn’s concert comeback. This ghastly miscalculation transformed the rock star into a shambling zombie, who then embarked on a macabre journey with Sluggo to track down Bliss.
As the night wore on, Sluggo’s sinister intentions became apparent: he intended to harness the resurrection suit’s power to create an army of reanimated corpses. Johnny reluctantly acquiesced to Sluggo’s demands and reunited with his undead father, only to have O’Flynn impart a poignant warning before his untimely demise: do not fail Bliss as he had failed Johnny.
The gang rallied against Sluggo in a fierce battle, ultimately vanquishing him and freeing themselves from the shackles of their extraterrestrial exile. In the aftermath of this selfless act, Johnny and Bliss decided to forsake their intergalactic obligations and instead opted to remain on Earth, embarking on a new chapter together as they vanished into the horizon.
