Mathew Donovan experiences a life-altering tragedy when he loses his right eye in a violent car crash that also claims the life of his unborn child with his wife, Jessica. Ten months later, Matt, seeking solace and distraction, installs a camera in his prosthetic eye to help document his journey. During this time, a chilling news report surfaces about a satellite that has been destroyed by an unidentified object over Canada.

To celebrate his best friend Joe’s 30th birthday, Matt and Jessica decide to escape to a remote cabin nestled in Gracefield, Quebec. Joining them are Joe’s girlfriend, Liz Blackburn, Matt’s Bigfoot-enthusiast boss, and Jessica’s younger brother Trey Myers, along with Trey’s girlfriend, Julia Gilbert. As they settle in for what should be a relaxing getaway, a mysterious streaking light is spotted overhead on the very first night.

Intrigued, Matt and Joe venture out to investigate, discovering a meteorite in a nearby crater. However, their curiosity turns dangerous when an alien creature grabs at Matt, prompting a panicked retreat. Matt’s dog, Teddy, starts howling in the distance, which sends Trey into action, but trouble only deepens as the alien continues to pursue them.

As tensions rise, Trey mentions a strange encounter with something in the woods. Yet, fearing the women will be alarmed, Matt and Joe choose to keep the specifics to themselves. Despite their unease, Matt continues to address deeper concerns with Jessica about starting a family again after their loss. A sudden and unsettling event shakes the group when something strikes a cabin window, leaving a cryptic pattern in the shattered glass.

The suspense escalates when Trey mysteriously disappears inside the cabin, and Matt wakes to find him ensnared in a trance-like state on the couch. This series of supernatural occurrences leads to the discovery that Trey has wandered off into the forest. The urgency forces Matt and Joe to brave the woods in search of both Trey and Julia, who has impulsively ventured out after her brother.

Meanwhile, Jess tries to call for help but is interrupted when Liz discovers a map of Bigfoot sightings in the area, emphasizing their unsettling retreat. The alien’s menace is only highlighted further when it launches an attack on Julia in the woods, leaving her clothes strewn across tree branches as Matt and Joe try to make sense of the terrifying situation.

As they navigate a cornfield, the men employ helium balloons tied to Joe’s phone to gain a higher perspective, where they spot a disturbing crop circle that resembles the symbol previously broadcasted on television. Here, Matt theorizes that the alien’s markings might be a form of communication. Just when they think they can find their way back to the cabin, a new terror ensues as the alien hunts them down.

Panicked, Jess and Liz attempt to devise a means of escape, but as Joe and Liz set out on bicycles to find help, they become victims of the unseen creature, vanishing into thin air. Back at the cabin, Matt and Jess sift through recorded footage, exposing the same mysterious symbols they’ve encountered. The realization dawns on them: the alien has been tracking the meteorite all along.

As chaos envelops the cabin, and ultimately leads to another heart-wrenching encounter with the alien, Matt grapples with the weight of the stolen lives. In a climactic face-off, he presents the glowing meteorite to the creature, which triggers a shocking transformation revealing an infant alien. Apologizing to the adult alien, Matt witnesses the departure of the beings in a flash of light as their spaceship ascends into the night sky.

To everyone’s bewilderment, moments after the aliens vanish, Jess, Joe, Liz, Trey, and Julia reappear, disoriented and confused. Just when the ordeal seems over, the Canadian Air Force arrives in rescue helicopters. Fast forward a year later, and in a poignant moment, Matt and Jess joyfully welcome their newborn daughter, Emily, symbolizing hope after their tumultuous journey.
