Plot Summary

As Stu Price (played by) readies himself for his impending nuptials to Lauren, he makes a conscious effort to distance himself from the chaos that unfolded two years prior in Las Vegas. Initially, he declines the offers of his three closest friends - Doug Billings, Phil Wenneck, and Alan Garner - to join him on his Thai escapade, opting instead for a low-key bachelor party at IHOP with Phil and Doug. However, after some persistence from Tracy, Stu eventually relents, allowing his friends, along with Tracy and Phil’s wife Stephanie, to accompany him to Thailand. The group’s ranks swell further when they’re joined by Lauren’s 16-year-old brother, Teddy, a brilliant Stanford University scholar. As they gather for the rehearsal dinner, Lauren’s father delivers a disapproving toast, foreshadowing the tumult that is to come.

The next morning, Stu, Phil, and Alan awaken in a dilapidated Bangkok hotel room with no recollection of how they arrived at their current state of debauchery. A hasty examination reveals that Stu has acquired a tattoo eerily reminiscent of Mike Tyson’s, while Alan’s head is now completely shorn of hair. As they stumble about the room, they’re introduced to a chain-smoking capuchin monkey who serves as a harbinger of chaos. The trio soon discovers that Leslie Chow has followed them to Thailand, courtesy of Alan’s invitation. In their panic, they misinterpret Chow’s lifeless state and dispose of his body in the hotel’s ice box.

As they struggle to make sense of the previous night’s events, the group receives a cryptic tip from Doug, who had departed earlier, leading them to a police station in search of Teddy. However, instead of finding their missing friend, they’re presented with a wheelchair-bound elderly Buddhist monk, who remains resolute in his vow of silence. The trio’s quest for answers takes a dramatic turn when they stumble upon a business card, leading them to the smoldering ruins of the establishment in question. Located amidst the devastation, it appears that this once-thriving business was destroyed in the midst of a riot that ravaged the city the night before.

As they venture into the tattoo parlor where Stu obtained his ink, the trio uncovers a tangled web of events that led to the riot. Their search for answers ultimately leads them to return the enigmatic monk to his temple, where they’re urged by the head monk to indulge in contemplative practices. It’s during this introspective period that Alan has an epiphany, recalling their wild night at the strip club, which revealed a shocking truth about Stu’s exploits with a transsexual woman.

As they emerge from the temple, the trio is suddenly ambushed by two ruthless Russian mobsters who steal the monkey and leave Phil with a gunshot wound in his arm. After receiving medical attention, Phil’s companions are left reeling as Alan confesses to having drugged some marshmallows with muscle relaxers and ADHD medication to sedate Teddy, but accidentally mixed up the bags.

The ensuing brawl culminates with Stu directing his anger at Alan, but Phil intervenes, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of adversity. Amidst the chaos, they notice an address and time scribbled on Alan’s stomach - a clue that would lead them to Kingsley, a menacing figure who demands Chow’s bank account password by the next morning in exchange for Teddy.

As they scramble to uncover the password, they’re shocked to discover Chow is still alive. Desperate to reclaim their friend, they embark on a violent car chase to recover the monkey from the Russian mobsters, during which the agile primate is injured in a hail of bullets.

With the code finally in hand, the trio completes the deal with Kingsley, only to be met by Interpol agents who arrest Chow. Kingsley’s true identity as an undercover agent is revealed, leaving our heroes more desperate than ever to find Teddy.

As a rolling blackout plunges the city into darkness, Stu has an epiphany about Teddy’s whereabouts. The quartet rushes back to their hotel room, where they’re overjoyed to find Teddy safe and sound in the elevator - albeit missing a finger. It seems he’d woken up earlier than his friends but became trapped after the power outage while fetching ice for his injured digit.

With Chow’s speedboat at their disposal, the reunited group sets out to make it back to the wedding reception, ready to put their ordeal behind them and celebrate the union of Doug and Tracy.

As fate would have it, Stu’s timely arrival just as Lauren’s father is poised to scrap the wedding, sets the stage for a dramatic turn of events. With an impassioned speech, Stu boldly rejects his mundane dental career, revealing a hidden streak of wildness that leaves Lauren’s father impressed and ultimately granting the couple his blessing. The reception that follows takes on a life of its own with Alan presenting Stu with a unique gift - a surprise musical performance by none other than Mike Tyson. As the night wears on, Teddy stumbles upon a treasure trove of memories when he discovers the photos he took earlier in the evening, only to find his phone had run out of battery before he could delete them. In a moment of camaraderie, the group, now joined by Tyson, comes together to relive the highlights of their night and decide what to do with these cherished moments forever frozen in time.
