Following the unfortunate demise of the king and the unexpected abdication by his son, Howard, Margaret confronts the heavy burden of leadership and, in her uncertainty, ends her relationship with Kevin, who has since opened a bakery in Chicago with Olivia.

In a twist of fate, Stacy makes an unexpected stop in Chicago on her way to the much-anticipated coronation. It is here that she discovers Kevin, grappling with heartache and desolation following their breakup.
