In 1995, in a calm city on the French Riviera, a disturbing scene unfolds. A group of teenage prostitutes, under the grim supervision of their local pimps, are on the lookout for customers. Suddenly, a van pulls up, and a man steps out. One of the pimps rudely tells him to move along, to which the man responds, “So am I,” before opening fire with an assault rifle. This man, Arkady Karasov (Radivoje Bukvic), accompanied by his associates Yuri and Leo Imasova (Lenn Kudrjawizki), ruthlessly eliminates the pimps, sending the prostitutes scattering in terror. Amidst the chaos, Karasov spares one survivor with a stern warning that this territory now belongs to him. He then commands a new set of working girls, adorned with necklaces symbolizing their servitude to him, to take their places on the street. Notably, one girl named Anna (Loan Chabanol) trembles in the aftermath of the violence.

Karasov soon notices Maissa ([Noémie Lenoir]), a former associate’s girl who remains at the scene of the crime, and offers her a position in his organization. With a quick ‘yes,’ she accepts and gets into his vehicle, while Anna continues to stand frigidly at the corner, tears filling her eyes.

Fifteen years pass.

Now, Anna finds herself in a luxurious restaurant, where she speaks into her phone, confirming that their elaborate plan is in full swing. Meanwhile, a group of six local thugs spots a black Audi in a parking garage and approaches it with intent to steal. Enter Frank Martin (Ed Skrein), who effortlessly subdues them, showcasing his martial arts prowess while dismissing their threats with casual confidence.

Later, Frank meets his father, Martin Sr. (Ray Stevenson), who expresses his mild annoyance at Frank being late to dinner. As they drive away, Frank receives an unexpected call, which he ignores—he prefers not to engage with unlisted numbers while driving.

Across town, Qiao ([Wenxia Yu]) is entangled in a tense situation with two men awaiting Anna. When Anna arrives, she surprises everyone by pulling out a hidden weapon, executing a swift double murder. She and Qiao then meticulously stage the crime scene to mislead the authorities, using a fire to erase any evidence.

Later that night at his home, Frank chats with his father over dinner. What seems like a mundane exchange takes an urgent turn when Frank receives another call from Anna, establishing a deal that requires discretion and secrecy. The next day, Anna presents Frank with a job, proposing an agreement that will forever change their lives.

Meanwhile, Karasov lounges on his yacht, enjoying life surrounded by women while being unaware of the storm brewing just beyond his horizon. The intertwining fates of Frank and Anna lead them to a forbidden partnership—a partnership fueled by vengeance against Karasov, who destroyed so many lives, including their own.

As the plot unfolds, Frank discovers Anna’s true motivations—they have a personal vendetta against Karasov for the suffering he caused, especially for Anna, who reveals the horrific circumstances that led to her forced life in prostitution. Determined to stop Karasov’s reign of terror, Frank assists Anna and her allies in a meticulously crafted plan to dismantle his criminal empire.

The stakes rise as Frank finds himself embroiled in a complex web of deceit, violence, and unexpected betrayals. Each action propels them closer to a final confrontation with Karasov, leading to explosive results. Frank’s formidable skills are put to the test as he fights betrayal and seeks to protect his father from Karasov’s cruel machinations.

In a climactic showdown involving gunfights, clever traps, and a race against time, alliances are formed and broken. As Frank battles Karasov, Anna’s hidden layers are revealed, culminating in a heart-wrenching conclusion that sees her reclaim her power while grappling with the ghosts of her past.

In the throes of danger, sacrifices are made. Lives are lost, and loyalties are challenged. But amidst the chaos, redemption is sought, destinies collide, and secrets are unveiled as the darkness of their pasts battles against a flickering light of hope for the future.

The film closes with Anna finding a semblance of peace, as she uses her newfound freedom to reconcile with her past by providing for the families forever altered by their shared torment under Karasov’s rule. In these final moments, she reflects on the price of her liberation and the extent she’s willing to go to ensure that no one else suffers as she did.
