Edward George Skrein (born 29 March 1983), known as Ed Skrein, is a talented English actor, filmmaker, and rapper. His acting career rose to prominence when he played the supervillain Francis Freeman / Ajax in the superhero comedy film Deadpool (2016). A versatile performer, Skrein also featured in films such as The Transporter: Refueled (2015), Alita: Battle Angel (2019), Midway (2019), and the upcoming Rebel Moon series (2023, 2024). His roots lie in London's borough of Camden where he was born and grew up in, along with other boroughs like Haringey and Islington. His career in the entertainment and arts spans from music to acting and filmmaking.

Skrein's journey into the entertainment industry began with music, releasing a three-track EP in 2004, and his debut album The Eat Up in 2007. His acting debut came in Plan B's short film Michelle, which eventually led to larger roles like Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones' third season. While he left the series, it was not by his choice. Skrein gained further recognition replacing Jason Statham in The Transporter: Refueled, and later as the villain Ajax/Francis in Deadpool. His work also spreads to writing and directing, Skrein directing the short drama film Little River Run in 2020. He has three children and has been a swimming coach since he was 12.
