Plot Summary

As Anna (name) alights in Tuscany’s sun-kissed landscape, she finds herself ensconced within the rustic charm of her old school chum Verena’s family villa in San Fabiano. Initially, Anna had planned to share this idyllic getaway with her beau Alex, but a last-minute cancellation sees him stuck in London, fueling whispers of an underlying argument. This rift sets the tone for a subtle yet palpable divide within the group: Verena, her new husband Charlie, and their cousin George, on one hand, and the trio of teenagers - Verena’s children Jack and Badge, Charlie’s son Archie, and George’s offspring Oakley - on the other.

Anna, seeking solace from the tumultuous emotions brewing within, begins to gravitate towards the youthful contingent. She becomes increasingly entwined in their carefree antics, making a pact with them to keep their nocturnal escapades, which included marijuana use and a reckless joyride in a borrowed vehicle, under wraps from their parents.

As Anna’s relationships with both age groups begin to fray, she finds herself tangled in an awkward dance of flirtation with Oakley, the most self-assured of the group. A tantalizing moment of connection is left hanging when Anna extends an invitation for him to spend the night, only to be rebuffed. This rejection marks a turning point as Anna gradually disconnects from the teenagers and eventually confides in Verena about their escapades.

The consequences of their reckless behavior come to a head when Oakley’s argument with his father turns physical. Anna’s belated apology to Oakley falls on deaf ears, as he bluntly tells her that he has nothing more to say. The teens’ collective disapproval leaves Anna feeling like an outsider, prompting her to check out of the villa and into a nearby hotel.

Verena tracks Anna down, and they reconcile after Anna shares her recent revelation: she’s come to terms with the fact that motherhood is no longer within her grasp. With her emotions in flux, Anna returns to the villa, where she’s welcomed back by the teenagers. As the others depart, Anna lingers for a few hours, basking in the warmth of the Tuscany sunset.

In the film’s poignant final scene, Anna finds herself ensconced in a taxi en route to the airport, her phone pressed to her ear as she reconnects with Alex (actor name), seemingly looking forward to their reunion.
