The film opens with Jim’s commercial for All City Insurance, revealing a less-than-glamorous life as he navigates the bustling streets of Los Angeles. Contrary to what one might expect of a suave insurance executive, Jim is more recognized for his face plastered on benches, enduring the embarrassing reality that people sometimes sit on him. After a grueling commute on the notorious 405 freeway, he returns home and checks his voicemail, greeted by two contrasting messages: one from his agent, filled with disappointment, and another inviting him back to Newberg for his high school reunion—the Castle High School Class of 1994, to be precise.

Newberg, a town shrouded in nostalgia, comes with its own set of complications. Jim hasn’t stepped foot back there in years, burdened by feelings of inadequacy. His memories flash back to joyful times spent with friends, though one particular moment stands out—an awkward scene featuring someone in the buff. As Jim boards a plane to Newberg, there’s anticipation mixed with dread about confronting his past.

Upon his arrival, he is met by an eclectic group of friends. While Len and T seem to have matured into respectable adults, Skunk and Freeman still embody their carefree high school personas. A visit to The Knob, a local bar, introduces him to Angie, a wild character who, despite her many troubles and pregnancies, maintains an unfazed spirit, indulging in short skirts, smoking, and drinking while openly expressing disdain for her children. The situation takes an emotional turn when Laurie, Jim’s high school sweetheart, makes an appearance. Though she’s about to marry Mark, her presence evokes bittersweet memories of Jim’s glory days on the football field.

As their reunion unfolds, the group gathers for a backyard barbecue where chaos ensues in the form of a quirky ball game. Skunk, fresh from a night of drunken antics, becomes the subject of a humiliating prank, leaving him exposed in a neighbor’s truck. This chaotic yet familiar atmosphere is what Jim yearns for, a reminder of the camaraderie he once cherished.

Time passes, and it’s finally the long-anticipated reunion event—yet, fate intervenes as Mark’s bachelor party takes center stage.
