On the lively streets of Las Vegas, we are introduced to Andy Duckerman, played by Adam DeVine, a charismatic cab driver grappling with the aftermath of a breakup with Kristina Darkwood, played by Gillian Jacobs, a headlining illusionist at the famed Caesars Palace. Andy, now a counselor for the Hearts group, comprising the eclectic mix of Theo, Nathan, Ruth, Judd, and Vera, adopts a façade of an experienced magician, boasting of his international performances and rivals. As he attempts to teach the children fundamental magic tricks, he soon realizes that Nathan’s eagerness for learning may hinder their progress. To lift spirits, Andy organizes an exciting trip to explore the town; Judd and Vera showcase their outfit-changing talents at a shop, while Nathan impressively guesses the weight of his candy bag to score a free treat. Ruth takes justice into her own hands by sending flocks of pigeons to deter bullies.

As night descends, Andy returns to discover Darkwood on the phone with a producer discussing her solo career, which ignites anger and argument between them.
