Plot Summary
Jeremy, portrayed by Jude Law, owns a quaint cafe in New York City that becomes a regular haunt for Elizabeth, played by Norah Jones. When Jeremy reveals that Elizabeth’s boyfriend has been dining with another woman, she is devastated and starts visiting the cafe frequently, forming a close bond with Jeremy. In a fit of anger and heartbreak, she hands her keys to Jeremy for safekeeping, in case her ex comes looking for them, then disappears without a trace.
Adopting the name Lizzie, she catches a bus to Memphis, where she juggles two jobs—one at a cafe and another at a bar—to save up for a car.
