Alexander Skarsgård

Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård, born 25 August 1976, is a renowned Swedish actor. Born in Stockholm, he kick-started his acting career at a tender age of just seven, but momentarily quit at 13. After serving in the Swedish Navy, he made a comeback in acting with a role in the US comedy film Zoolander (2001). He gained recognition for his portrayal of Brad Colbert in the miniseries Generation Kill (2008) and the vampire Eric Northman in True Blood (2008–2014).

Skarsgård further starred in various films including Melancholia (2011), Battleship (2012), The Legend of Tarzan (2016), and played an abusive husband in the drama series Big Little Lies (2017–2019) which earned him numerous accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He continued his successful stint in acting with roles in Long Shot (2019), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), Passing (2021), The Northman (2022), which he also co-produced, Infinity Pool (2023), and in the drama series Succession (2021–2023). Skarsgård's decision to return to acting post his naval service has led to a prolific and diverse career, establishing him as one of the most renowned names in the film industry.
