Christopher Plummer

**Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer** (December 13, 1929 – February 5, 2021) was a renowned Canadian actor whose career spanned over seven decades. With a body of work that extended across film, stage and television, he was highly recognized for his performances. His accolades included an Academy Award, two Tony Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards, making him the only Canadian recipient of the 'Triple Crown of Acting'. Additionally, he received a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as a nomination for a Grammy Award. Plummer made his Broadway debut in *The Starcross Story* (1954). His roles in plays such as *Cyrano* (1974) and *Barrymore* (1997) earned him two Tony Awards. He made his first mark in film as Captain Georg von Trapp in *The Sound of Music* (1965), achieving a household name status as a result. He further solidified his reputation in film with roles in *The Fall of the Roman Empire* (1964), *Waterloo* (1970), *The Man Who Would Be King* (1975), and several other notable films. He would later win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for *Beginners* (2011).
