
65th British Academy Film Awards 2012
The 65th British Academy Film Awards, commonly known as the BAFTAs, were held on 12 February 2012 at the Royal Opera House in London, honouring the best national and foreign films of 2011. The Artist emerged as the big winner – taking home awards for Best Film, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius) and Best Actor (Jean Dujardin) – while Meryl Streep won Best Actress for The Iron Lady. The ceremony also celebrated achievements in supporting roles, technical categories and bestowed special awards for lifetime contributions.
