Colin Andrew Firth CBE, is an English actor and producer known for his powerful performances and versatile acting skills. Born 10 September 1960, Firth has achieved success in both film and television. He is the recipient of several accolades, including an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards, and a Golden Globe Award, as well as nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards. Firth was appointed a CBE for his services to drama in 2011 and appeared on Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world.

Firth's career started in the mid-1980s, with leading roles in films like A Month in the Country (1987), Tumbledown (1988) and Valmont (1989). His portrayal of Mr. Darcy in the 1995 television adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice catapulted him to wider fame. Since then, he has starred in more prominent films such as The English Patient (1996), Shakespeare in Love (1998), The Importance of Being Earnest (2002), and Love Actually (2003).
