David Morse

**David Bowditch Morse**, born on October 11, 1953, is a well-known American actor with an impressive range of roles during his career. One of his breakout roles was as Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison in the medical drama series *St. Elsewhere* which ran from 1982 to 1988. He's also had noteworthy roles in numerous films including *The Negotiator*, *The Good Son*, *Horns* and *Contact*. Morse's career really took off in 2006 when he took on the role of Detective Michael Tritter in the highly popular medical drama series House, earning him an Emmy Award nomination. He later played George Washington in the 2008 HBO miniseries John Adams, which resulted in yet another Emmy nomination. He was recognized for his portrayal of Uncle Peck on Off-Broadway, bagging a Drama Desk Award and Obie Award. From 2010 to 2013, Morse stepped into the character of Terry Colson, an honest police officer navigating through a corrupt New Orleans police department, in the HBO series *Treme*. More recent projects include *Outsiders*, *Escape at Dannemora*, and the Netflix comedy-drama series *The Chair*. Morse was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, to parents Jacquelyn Morse, a teacher, and Charles Morse, a salesman. He continues to thrive in the acting industry with his mastery in portraying a range of complex characters.
