Gal Gadot (Hebrew: גל גדות‎, pronounced [ˈɡal ɡaˈdot]; born 30 April 1985) is an Israeli actress who rose to mainstream fame for her outstanding performance of Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe films. She began her acting career by playing Gisele Yashar in Fast & Furious (2009), a role she reprised in five sequels. Over the years, Gadot has starred in various successful films such as Netflix's action-comedy film Red Notice (2021) and the mystery film Death on the Nile (2022). Her exemplary talent led her to be listed as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time in 2018.

Before her rise to stardom, Gadot was born in Petah Tikva, and later brought up in the city of Rosh HaAyin, Israel. She's of Ashkenazi Jewish descent with a background that traces back to Poland, Austria, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. Her early life depicts an image of resilience and humble beginnings, as seen in her employment at a local Burger King and work as a babysitter. After completing her high school education, Gadot was conscripted to the Israel Defense Forces as a combat fitness instructor. She later proceeded to IDC Herzliya in Israel where she studied law. Before her acting career, Gadot was also a winner of the Miss Israel 2004 title.
