Check out what happened in Keeping Up with the Joneses!

As Jeff Gaffney (Zach Galifianakis) returns home from his stint at the McDowell-Burton International (MBI), he's met with an unexpected surprise - his wife Karen (Isla Fisher) has already taken the initiative to introduce herself to their new neighbors, the Joneses couple, Tim and Natalie (Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot). The Craverston family (Matt Walsh and Maribeth Monroe), proprietors of their quaint Cul-De-Sac abode, have unwittingly played hosts to this impromptu gathering. Karen's eagerness to make a connection with her new neighbors is palpable, but Jeff's skepticism lingers beneath the surface.

Karen's growing unease about Natalie's seemingly perfect life is soon fueled by her discovery that the enigmatic social media consultant and cooking blogger has an ulterior motive. As she follows Natalie to the mall, Karen finds herself in a precarious situation - caught red-handed in a dressing room, confronted by Natalie for her snooping ways. Meanwhile, Jeff attempts to forge a bond with Tim over a Chinese feast, but his reluctance to participate in a snake wine ritual and subsequent mishap involving a severed snake head underscores his reservations about true friendship.

As tensions simmer beneath the surface, an ominous discovery is made at MBI HQ - a suspicious email sent by Jeff's computer to an international arms dealer known as Scorpion. This revelation sets off a chain reaction of events that culminates in Jeff and Karen stumbling upon the truth: they've been under surveillance by the Joneses all along.

In a desperate bid to uncover the truth, Jeff accidentally shatters Tim's prized glass sculpture, revealing a hidden bug among the shards. This discovery sparks a realization that their every move has been monitored by the cunning Joneses. In a daring attempt to outsmart their neighbors, Jeff and Karen hatch a plan to infiltrate the Joneses' domain. However, their mission is marred by chaos when Jeff mistakenly brandishes an item as a pen gun, leaving him stunned and his wife at risk.

As they narrowly escape the Joneses' wrath, Natalie's keen eyes spot the telltale sign of a pen gun on the floor, leading her to speculate that the Gaffneys may have orchestrated a break-in. The air is thick with tension as these two seemingly ordinary households are plunged into a world of espionage and deception, where nothing is as it seems.

As the Gaffneys sat down with Carl Pronger (Kevin Dunn), MBI advisor, to unravel the tangled web surrounding the enigmatic Joneses, fate had other plans. A sniper's deadly bullet cut their conversation short, claiming Carl's life and leaving the Gaffneys reeling. The Joneses, however, were hot on the scene, rescuing them from the jaws of danger and sparking a high-stakes chase that would leave a trail of destruction in its wake. The masked motorcycle riders, no match for the Joneses' expertise, met their demise as the duo expertly navigated the chaos.

But just as the Gaffneys thought they'd caught a break, they stumbled into the Joneses' secret lives as covert agents. A hair-raising escape from their own home, mere seconds before a bomb reduced it to rubble, only added fuel to the fire. It soon became clear that international arms dealer "the Scorpion" (Patton Oswalt) had his sights set on taking down the Joneses and kidnapping the Craverstons, whose possession of microchips could weaken the U.S. missile defense system.

Dan's revelation that he was the one who'd hacked into Jeff's computer to email the Scorpion, followed by Jeff's ill-advised acceptance of a lucrative offer, set the wheels in motion for a deadly game of cat and mouse. The Joneses, now fully aware of their true identities, found themselves at the mercy of the Scorpion, whose real name was none other than Bruce Springstine.

As the situation spiralled out of control, Tim radioed for backup, only to have it called off due to concerns over collateral damage. Jeff's decision to blow the Scorpion's cover, coupled with his own revelation that he'd taken Dan's alias "Rascal Flatts" to deliver the microchips, left them both reeling.

When the Gaffneys and Joneses found themselves held captive, Karen's quick thinking allowed her to pass a knife to Natalie by providing a diversion in the form of a passionate embrace. The Joneses seized the opportunity to take down Bruce's men, escaping mere seconds before the Scorpion's bomb detonated, claiming his life.

A year later, Jeff and Karen revisited the Hazim's Cafe in Marrakesh, where the Joneses had once courted. The agency veterans revealed they'd left their spy games behind, but their instincts proved right when four men, possibly working for another agency, began to close in on them. With the stakes raised once more, the Joneses engaged in a tense standoff with their would-be captors, leaving the outcome shrouded in mystery.
