The cinematic journey begins with a tantalizing glimpse into ancient Egyptian lore, as the storied tale of Cleopatra and Mark Antony unfolds on screen. The narrative takes a dramatic turn as the golden bejeweled eggs, symbolic of their enduring love, are whisked away by time's passage, only to reemerge centuries later as relics of myth and legend. Meanwhile, in the present day, an enigmatic figure is meticulously crafting a replica of one of these precious artifacts.

In Rome, Special Agent John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) joins forces with Interpol Inspector Das (Ritu Arya) at a museum, hot on the trail of notorious art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds), whose latest escapade has been cryptically signaled by a mysterious informant known only as "The Bishop." The duo's investigation leads them to the museum director, who guides them to one of Cleopatra's eggs on display for all to see. Hartley employs his thermal expertise and, with the aid of an unassuming can of Coke, reveals that the egg on public display is a mere imitation, while its authentic counterpart remains hidden from prying eyes.

As Das orders the museum's lockdown, Booth springs into action, snatching the genuine article and making a daring escape by scaling scaffolding and orchestrating a controlled collapse. Hartley gives chase, but Booth outmaneuvers him, leading to a thrilling sequence of high-stakes pursuit through the city streets. The Special Agent finds himself T-boned by an errant gelato truck, leaving Booth to disappear into the night.

Days pass before Hartley tracks down Booth to his Bali hideaway, only to find that the art thief has been joined by an unexpected ally – a cunning operative (Gal Gadot) who discreetly swaps the genuine egg with its replica. Meanwhile, Das's suspicions are piqued when she discovers an $8 million wire transfer in Hartley's name, leading her to question his involvement in the heist.

As tensions escalate, Hartley finds himself under arrest by Das, who has lost faith in his partner. It becomes clear that nothing is as it seems, and the pursuit of Booth's latest escapade has set off a chain reaction of deceit, betrayal, and international intrigue.

As Hartley navigates the bleak landscape of a Russian prison, he's unexpectedly reunited with Booth in their shared cellblock. The revelation that Booth is his unlikely roommate sets the stage for a tumultuous series of events. As they settle into their new surroundings, Booth drops a bombshell: whoever possesses the three eggs must deliver them to an Egyptian billionaire by the stroke of midnight on the eve of his daughter's wedding, in exchange for a staggering $300 million. The men quickly realize that the second egg is currently in the possession of Sotto Voce, an international arms dealer notorious for hosting extravagant soirees - the perfect opportunity to swipe the egg from under his nose.

However, their whispered plans are brutally interrupted by Booth's careless outburst in the cafeteria, deliberately drawing attention to Hartley's dubious credentials. This sparks a confrontation with Drago Grande, a towering inmate who takes great pleasure in humiliating Hartley in front of their fellow prisoners before the authorities intervene, hauling them back to their cell.

Their captors soon reveal that they will be meeting The Bishop, an enigmatic figure who turns out to be an undercover agent responsible for swapping the eggs. She boasts about having been one step ahead of Booth, her true identity as the world's most elusive art thief, and taunts him with the knowledge that she has transferred a significant amount of money into Hartley's name. However, Booth remains resolute in refusing to divulge any information about the third egg's location, earning The Bishop's ire.

In response, she orders their transfer to hard labor, prompting Hartley to re-evaluate his predicament and formulate a plan to clear his name. Amidst the drudgery, he finds an unlikely ally in Booth, whose troubled past provides a glimpse into the complexities of his character. As they work together, Hartley probes Booth about his father, a Swiss police captain, wondering how someone with such a strong sense of justice could raise a son who would follow in their footsteps to become a criminal. Booth's response reveals a complicated relationship with his father, marked by neglect and abandonment - a painful reminder that even those closest to us can be flawed and hurtful.

As the situation spirals out of control, Booth seizes the opportunity to put their well-crafted plan into action. With calculated precision, he hurls a bar of soap into a cleaning solution, triggering an explosion that sends chaos erupting throughout the area. Amidst the mayhem, the pair fights off the guards with tenacity and determination, ultimately securing a badge for Booth to use as a means of gaining access to a chopper. As Hartley makes a daring dash across the bridge, the guards attempt to thwart their escape by blowing it up behind them. Undeterred, Booth commandeers the chopper, firing its machine guns at the pursuing guards as he takes to the skies. Meanwhile, Hartley valiantly attempts to scale the bridge's structural framework before finally managing to leap into the waiting chopper. The pursuers, however, refuse to yield, launching a missile that Booth skillfully diverts by flying it harmlessly towards a nearby mountain, allowing the duo to make their getaway.

In a separate development, Bishop is keeping an agent captive in his office, compelling her to utilize his computer to dispatch a decrypted message to Das. The contents of the transmission reveal Hartley and Booth's escape, as well as an invitation to Sotto Voce's high-profile party. As the agent attempts to trigger an alarm, Bishop swiftly dispatches the responding officer with calculated efficiency. He then coerces the captive into fabricating an account of the events or risk having him confront the darkest secrets of his loved ones.

With Hartley and Booth in tow, Booth secures assistance from a trusted contact, Tambwe (Ivan Mbakop), to facilitate their transportation to Sotto Voce's Valencia stronghold. Booth devises a strategy to breach Voce's secure safe, which can only be accessed through the combination of his thumbprint and facial recognition software – technological capabilities he has carefully prepared for with his own unique tech.

As the masquerade ball reaches its climax, Hartley (character name) and Booth slip into the shadows, seeking anonymity amidst the revelry. Their mission: to infiltrate Bishop's presence without arousing suspicion. And so, they dance with Bishop herself, a calculated move that allows them to blend in with the crowd. Sotto Voce, however, is less than thrilled about their sudden appearance and decides to cut in, his jealousy palpable. Meanwhile, Booth discreetly pilfers a glass containing Voce's thumbprint, a crucial move that will grant them access to the safe where the coveted egg lies hidden.

Their plan unfolding with precision, Hartley and Booth navigate the labyrinthine corridors, finally arriving at the safe. But their triumph is short-lived, as Das appears, gun drawn, demanding Hartley arrest Booth if he's indeed on the side of the law. A tense standoff ensues before Hartley defuses the situation, allowing them to enter the safe and secure it behind them. Unbeknownst to the pair, Bishop has already beaten them to it, her stealthy entrance foiled only by Voce's sudden interruption.

As the dust settles, Bishop interrogates Hartley with electric cables, demanding to know the location of the third egg. When Voce takes matters into his own hands, nearly strangling Hartley to extract the information, Booth is forced to intervene, revealing the egg's supposed resting place in a pyramid deep within Cairo. But just as it seems Voce and Bishop are about to depart together, Booth collapses, the victim of a surreptitiously spiked drink.

Voce stumbles upon his companions moments later, his vision impaired by some unseen force. In a wild firing spree, he targets Hartley and Booth, ultimately succumbing to the relentless onslaught of the bull that follows. The pair, now freed from their restraints, makes a hasty retreat into the night, eventually finding themselves on a train hurtling through the darkness.

As they ride the rails, Booth confesses his earlier deception regarding the third egg's location, prompting Hartley's ire. But in a surprising turn of events, Hartley reveals his own troubled past, sharing the story of his father, a con man who vanished from his life when he was just 13. Booth responds by sharing a tale of his own, one that delves into the mysterious history of the third egg.

According to Booth, this enigmatic artifact was recovered by none other than Rudolph Zeich, a notorious Nazi art collector with a penchant for plundering. After stashing away a hoard of stolen treasures, Zeich hid the egg, leaving it lost to the ages. But Booth's own connection to the egg runs deeper: his father's beloved watch, once thought to be a mere trinket, is actually a key that unlocks the safe where the third egg resides.

As the adventure unfolds, Booth (actor name) and his companions venture into Argentina, stumbling upon an ancient passageway that conceals a vast vault overflowing with pilfered treasures. The discovery of the coveted egg serves as a catalyst for chaos, as Bishop arrives on the scene accompanied by Das (actress name) and her contingent of skilled operatives. A high-stakes shootout ensues, culminating in a heart-pumping chase through the labyrinthine caves, where the trio navigates their vehicles with precision. Amidst the mayhem, Bishop and Das engage in a fierce struggle for possession of the egg, but Booth ultimately manages to reclaim it. The three then make their daring escape, careening out of the cave and over a thundering waterfall. As they make their getaway, Booth's attention is drawn to Hartley's absence, prompting him to risk his life by attempting to rescue his friend from the treacherous waters. Miraculously, Hartley emerges unscathed, while Bishop swims ashore, only to be confronted by Hartley, who reveals that they are not just colleagues but lovers, having masterminded the entire operation to pilfer the eggs from the beginning. As Booth lies helpless and handcuffed to a tree, the duplicitous duo flees the scene, leaving him to ponder their betrayal.

Their escapades take them next to Cairo, where Hartley and Bishop attend the opulent wedding of a billionaire's daughter, presenting her with not only the three coveted eggs but also a special musical performance by Ed Sheeran (actor name). Das and her agents crash the festivities, apprehending the billionaire and his uncooperative guest, Ed. Meanwhile, Hartley and Bishop slip away undetected, their financial windfall already secured.

As they set sail on a luxurious yacht, Booth reappears, revealing that he had tipped off Das about their deceitful scheme, effectively freezing their ill-gotten gains in their bank accounts. Faced with the prospect of imprisonment or an opportunity to join forces for an even greater score, Hartley and Bishop reluctantly agree to partner with Booth. As they set their sights on Paris's iconic Louvre Museum, Das and her agents arrive too late to apprehend them, only to discover that their quarry has vanished into thin air. She issues a red notice for the trio, foreshadowing a global manhunt.
