**Jeffrey Leon Bridges** (born December 4, 1949) is an American actor known widely for his intriguing roles in film and television. His acting career spans seven decades and entails numerous accolades including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and nominations for three BAFTA Awards and two Emmy Awards. Bridges was born into a prominent acting family and launched his acting career on the television series Sea Hunt alongside his father, Lloyd Bridges and brother, Beau Bridges. He made his first big-screen debut in the drama Halls of Anger, before he secured his first leading role in The Last Picture Show.
