**Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt** (/ˈlɛvɪt/; born February 17, 1981) is an acclaimed American actor who has received a multitude of accolades, including Golden Globe nominations for his performances in _500 Days of Summer (2009)_ and _50/50 (2011)_. He is also the founder of the online media platform _HitRecord_, which had won him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Interactive Program. Born into a Jewish family in Los Angeles, he entered the acting scene as a child, appearing in films such as _A River Runs Through It (1992)_, _Holy Matrimony (1994)_, and _Angels in the Outfield (1994)_. He has a memorable role in the TV series _3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001)._ In addition to his extensive acting work, he has also directed and written films and series. Notably, he wrote and directed _Don Jon_, a critically acclaimed comedy-drama film that earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay in 2013. Personal lifewise, he is married to Tasha McCauley, the CEO of a tech company, and together they have three children.
