Kate McKinnon Berthold, known professionally as Kate McKinnon, is an illustrious American actress, comedian, impressionist, and writer. Born on January 6, 1984, she gained fame as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022, where her diverse character work and celebrity impressions earned her critical and public acclaim. For her commendable work on the series, she was nominated for ten Primetime Emmy Awards, bagging wins in 2016 and 2017. Besides Saturday Night Live, McKinnon starred in the Logo sketch comedy series The Big Gay Sketch Show, lent her voice to lead roles in animated series such as Nature Cat and The Magic School Bus Rides Again, and portrayed Carole Baskin in the mini series Joe vs. Carole.
