Born Christopher Brian Bridges on September 11, 1977, Ludacris is an accomplished American rapper and actor. Originally from Champaign, Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at age nine, where he began rapping. He started his musical journey as a DJ, before establishing his own record label, Disturbing tha Peace, in the late 1990s. His debut studio album, Incognegro, was independently released in 1999, its single What's Your Fantasy became a top 40 hit, which led to a major label re-release as Back for the First Time (2000). Ludacris has won three Grammy Awards and multiple other accolades. He has also successfully branched out into acting, with notable roles in the Fast & Furious series, Crash (2004), Gamer (2009), and New Year's Eve (2011). In 2021, he created and starred in the children's animated series Karma's World for Netflix. He maintains his connection to music, being the founder of his own record label, Disturbing tha Peace, and co-owner of Conjure Cognac. He contributes to society through his philanthropy, having established the Ludacris Foundation in 2002 and partnered with Do Something and Better World Books in 2011 to help restock library shelves in New Orleans.
