Plot Summary

As the camera pans over the vibrant streets of Cuba, we find ourselves immersed in a world of revved-up engines and high-stakes racing. It’s here that Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are celebrating their honeymoon in style, taking a closer look at a sleek ride with a boat engine purring beneath its hood. The atmosphere is electric, but it’s about to take a dramatic turn.

Dom’s cousin Fernando (Janmarco Santiago) is caught up in a heated exchange with Raldo (Celestino Cornielle), who’s determined to tow away Fernando’s prized possession. Dom intervenes, standing firm against Raldo’s taunts and sparking a rivalry that will leave only one winner. The stage is set for an epic street race: if Dom emerges victorious, he’ll claim Raldo’s car as his own; but should Raldo come out on top, Dom will surrender his prized Impala.

Dom’s competitive juices are flowing, and he sets out to upgrade Fernando’s ride with a souped-up engine. The two rivals face off in the Cuban Mile, their engines roaring as they tear down the strip. Raldo initially holds the lead, but Dom refuses to back down, igniting the fuel and sending his car soaring through the streets. A desperate attempt by one of Raldo’s cohorts to sabotage Dom by blocking his path with a motorcycle only serves to fuel Dom’s determination. As the engine starts to smoke and flames begin to lick at its edges, Dom manages to cross the finish line first, but he doesn’t stop there – he jumps out of the burning car as it hurtles into the river.

The crowd goes wild as Dom and Raldo confront each other, their mutual respect palpable. Raldo offers up his keys, acknowledging Dom’s superiority, while Dom declines, deeming his Impala a more fitting ride for a Toretto. The cheers of the onlookers still echoing through the air, Dom reflects on the chaos that has unfolded.

Later, as he navigates the streets, Dom stumbles upon Cipher (Charlize Theron), a mysterious figure tinkering with her car. Dom’s instincts tell him something is off, and his suspicions prove correct when Cipher reveals she knows his name. With an air of calculated intensity, she presents Dom with a tantalizing proposition: work for her, and uncover the secrets that lie within. As he gazes upon the personal memento she holds, Dom realizes he has no choice but to comply – the game is on, and he’s just been drawn into its web.

As the camera pans away from the energetic soccer field, we find Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) rallying his daughter’s team of skilled young athletes with an impassioned pep talk. His enthusiasm is palpable as he urges them to unleash their full potential against their opponents. Just as they’re about to take the field, a seasoned operative, DS Allan (Patrick St. Esprit), interrupts Hobbs’ motivational speech to deliver a grave warning: a powerful EMP has been detected in Berlin, capable of crippling entire cities’ power grids. Hobbs agrees to take on the mission, but only after his daughter scores a crucial goal. Later, he reaches out to Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) to assemble their elite team for the task at hand.

Dom and Hobbs embark on a perilous journey to Berlin, accompanied by Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), Tej Parker (Ludacris), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), and cyber genius Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel). Their mission is to secure the EMP, but they soon find themselves pursued by ruthless mercenaries. Using their exceptional skills, they take down their adversaries with a well-planned ambush involving a wrecking ball expertly set up by Tej.

As they near their objective, the team splits apart, with Hobbs riding shotgun alongside Dom in his truck. The two former allies share a heartfelt moment of appreciation, with Hobbs promising to catch up over beers once the mission is complete. However, Dom’s expression turns cold and calculating as he suddenly slams into Hobbs’ vehicle, sending it careening off the road. With Hobbs left stranded and vulnerable, Dom makes his move, snatching the EMP from their possession before disappearing into the night.

Meanwhile, back in Berlin, Hobbs finds himself locked away in a maximum-security prison, where he’s forced to endure the condescending banter of his cellmate, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). Before being taken to his cell, Hobbs receives an unexpected visit from Frank Petty, aka Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), and his protégé, Eric Reisner, later dubbed “Little Nobody” (Scott Eastwood). Mr. Nobody is keen on forging an alliance with Hobbs, but the latter remains skeptical.

When Little Nobody mentions Hobbs’ daughter, the father’s paternal instincts are triggered, leading him to take the young operative hostage. Mr. Nobody must intervene to calm the situation before it escalates further. As tensions simmer in the prison corridors, the rest of the team regroups at a secret garage, struggling to comprehend Dom’s unprecedented betrayal.

Ramsey expresses her doubts about Dom’s loyalty, prompting Letty to defend her friend, reminding everyone that Dom had saved their lives on multiple occasions. His actions, no matter how questionable, were always motivated by a desire to protect those he cared about.

As Hobbs and Deckard converge on Nobody’s HQ, a cryptic briefing unfolds, revealing the sinister Cipher’s Machiavellian machinations. Deckard’s troubled past with Cipher comes flooding back, recalling her pivotal role in recruiting his brother Owen (Luke Evans) to pilfer the Nightshade and manipulate Mose Jakande into stealing the surveillance system known as The God’s Eye. With Dom having foiled both of these schemes, it’s only logical that Cipher would redirect her attention towards him directly.

Letty’s keen eye spots Cipher’s loyal henchman, Connor Rhodes (Kristofer Hivju), a familiar figure from her past collaborations with Owen. Roman proposes using the God’s Eye to track down Dom, but when Ramsey attempts to do so, they’re bombarded by signals from all corners of the globe. After filtering out the least likely locations, they’re left with a single hotspot - the very building they’re standing in. Suddenly, an explosion rocks the area, sending everyone crashing to the ground.

As chaos subsides, Dom and Cipher make off with the God’s Eye, leaving Letty seething with indignation. She confronts Dom, asking if he’s prepared to abandon his family. Dom remains silent, but Cipher intervenes, planting a provocative kiss on him in front of Letty.

Back at their hideout, Dom queries Cipher about her motives, and she responds by citing the choices people make - specifically, his decision not to turn her away despite Letty’s watchful gaze. The revelation sparks a series of revelations, as Dom learns that he’s been working with Cipher out of a twisted desire to rescue Elena (Elsa Pataky), his former flame and Hobbs’s ex-partner, who’s been imprisoned alongside their young son, Marcus.

As the truth unfolds, Rhodes presents Cipher with a gun, which she hands over to Dom. With an ominous warning that they’re being surveilled, she gives him the choice of taking aim at her - but cautions that doing so would invite a hail of bullets from her henchmen, targeting not just him, but also Elena and Marcus. With his options limited, Dom reluctantly returns the gun to Cipher, trapped in a web of deceit and desperation.

Dom (Vin Diesel) receives a new assignment from Cipher: to retrieve a nuclear football with launch codes from a Russian ambassador’s motorcade in New York City. Before embarking on his mission, Dom pays a visit to Magdalene Shaw (Helen Mirren), the mother of Owen and Deckard, whose lives he had previously manipulated. Despite her sons’ tragic fates at Dom’s hands, he appeals to her maternal instincts, seeking assistance for a personal reason that transcends their complicated past. As he departs, Cipher remains unaware of his departure.

The stakes escalate when Cipher’s team hacks into the city’s vehicle system, commandeering nearly every car on the streets. The chaos is palpable as cars drive themselves recklessly, causing crashes and pandemonium throughout the city. In a desperate bid to thwart Dom’s mission, Cipher orders her minions to seize control of the ambassador’s limousine, forcing Dom to take drastic measures: he threatens to detonate the vehicle unless the football is handed over, prompting the authorities to comply.

As the chase intensifies, Dom finds himself surrounded by Cipher’s goons, who employ hooks in an attempt to apprehend him. Displaying his characteristic agility and cunning, Dom manages to shake off his pursuers, including a fateful confrontation with Deckard that appears to end in tragedy. Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) takes matters into her own hands, trying to reason with Dom about their tumultuous past and the enduring love they share.

When Letty attempts to escape with the briefcase, Dom hesitates, allowing Rhodes (Jason Tobias) to apprehend her. The situation becomes increasingly dire as Rhodes raises his gun to execute Letty, only for Dom to intervene, holding him at bay. Ultimately, Letty relinquishes the briefcase, and Dom and Rhodes manage to flee.

Upon their return to their hideout, Cipher expresses displeasure with Dom’s nearly catastrophic failure to prevent Letty’s escape. As Elena (Elsa Pataky) lies bound and gagged, Marcus (Luke Evans) wails uncontrollably in Cipher’s arms, oblivious to the impending doom surrounding him. The scene is set for a devastating turn of events as Rhodes coldly executes Elena, leaving Dom helpless and powerless against the merciless forces arrayed against him.

As the stakes reach a boiling point, Dom finds himself dispatched to Iceland by Cipher, tasked with commandeering an imposing war submarine. The crew embarks on this perilous mission equipped with vehicles generously provided by the enigmatic Mr. and Little Nobody. With his trusty EMP at the ready, Dom methodically eliminates any would-be pursuers until he reaches the submarine, allowing Cipher to infiltrate its systems. Meanwhile, an unsuspecting Cipher boards a plane that has been surreptitiously hijacked by both Deckard and Owen - a plot twist that will have far-reaching consequences. In a flashback, we learn that Dom’s decision to visit Magdalene was not taken lightly, as it marked the beginning of his covert collaboration with Raldo, whose expertise in keeping a low profile proved invaluable. Following his fake demise and subsequent shooting of Deckard, the latter found himself in the capable hands of Leo and Santos (Tego Calderon and Don Omar), who nursed him back to health before Magdalene herself intervened to revive her erstwhile ally. As the brothers navigate the hijacked plane, they systematically dismantle the villains, allowing Deckard to safely retrieve Marcus and confirm with Dom that his services are no longer needed. With this newfound freedom, Rhodes readies to strike at the crew, only for Dom to emerge from the shadows and engage him in a fierce battle. The confrontation culminates in Dom delivering a devastating blow to Rhodes’ neck, exacting a measure of revenge for Elena’s tragic fate. Moreover, Dom seizes the opportunity to convey a message to Cipher: his son is safe, and he is now hell-bent on bringing her to justice.

As Cipher seizes control of the submersible, her henchmen launch a ruthless assault on the crew. Enter Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel), who bursts onto the scene with a dramatic display of high-octane driving skills, sending one of the henchmen’s vans careening into chaos. The resulting pandemonium provides a perfect distraction for Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) to slip and slide his way down an icy slope, only to be expertly rescued by Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges). Meanwhile, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) swoops in to pluck Roman from the frigid waters, just as Roman dispatches a trio of snowmobile-riding villains with his trusty door-turned-sledgehammer.

As the crew scrambles to regroup, Cipher unleashes a barrage of torpedoes from her submarine, prompting Hobbs to demonstrate his remarkable strength by deflecting one back at a hapless henchman. But Cipher’s not done yet - she fires off a heat-seeking missile that Dom cleverly uses as a shield, riding it back towards the submersible and causing its spectacular destruction.

With the dust settling, Dom emerges from the inferno, only to be greeted by the welcoming arms of Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) in a tender reunion. As the crew reunites around the dinner table, Dom introduces his long-lost son, Brian, to the group with a warm sense of belonging. As they share a heartfelt moment of gratitude, Mr. Nobody and Little Nobody drop a bombshell: Cipher may still be at large, rumored to be spotted in Athens.

The scene shifts as Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) returns, bearing Marcus Locke’s lifeless body - but not before coaxing the two former adversaries into a begrudging respect for one another. As the evening wears on, Dom takes his place at the head of the table, offering thanks and blessings to his newly reunited family. And so, with love, loyalty, and laughter filling the air, the curtain closes on this high-stakes adventure.

As Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) finds himself entangled in a web of deceit, he’s coerced by the cunning cyber-terrorist Cipher into working against his own crew. The stakes are raised when she holds hostage Elena (Elena Neves), Hobbs’ former partner and Dom’s old flame from a tumultuous past, alongside her son - a revelation that sends shockwaves through Dom’s very identity. Meanwhile, Cipher’s accomplice Rhodes is tasked with eliminating Elena, further solidifying the cyber-terrorist’s grip on Dom.

As tensions escalate, Dom is forced to collaborate with Cipher, helping her pilfer the advanced surveillance system God’s Eye and the nuclear football - a move that threatens to destabilize global security. However, when Dom almost lets Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) escape with the football, Cipher exacts her revenge by having Rhodes brutally murder Elena in front of her heartbroken lover.

The stage is set for an epic showdown as Dom reunites with his estranged family and joins forces with Magdalene Shaw (Eugene Tuckman) and her sons to thwart Cipher’s plans. The stakes are higher than ever as the crew converges on Iceland, where Cipher has commandeered a colossal submarine. Little do they know that Dom has secretly enlisted their help to rescue his long-lost son and break free from Cipher’s shackles.

As the battle rages on, Dom returns to rejoin his family and friends, ultimately sacrificing himself to shield them from the devastating explosion that destroys the submarine. Though Cipher narrowly escapes, her malevolent presence still lingers, leaving Dom with a newfound determination to protect those he loves.

In a poignant moment of redemption, Dom names his newly discovered son Brian - a tribute to his old friend and a symbol of hope in the face of adversity. As the dust settles, Dom’s family is finally reunited, and he finds solace in their collective presence. The curtain closes on this thrilling chapter, with Dom’s future forever changed by the secrets that have been unearthed.
