His on-screen success started with movies like 'Barefoot in the Park', 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid', and 'The Candidate'.

Later, Redford gained recognition as a director, kicking off with the film 'Ordinary People' in 1980, which won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
