Sadie Elizabeth Sink, an American actress, started acting at the age of seven and more prominently played the title role in Annie (2012–14) and young Elizabeth II in The Audience (2015) on Broadway. Her film debut in 2016 was in Chuck, a biographical sports drama. Sink is most known for her role as Max Mayfield in the Netflix science fiction series Stranger Things (2017–present). Her performance in the show's fourth season earned critical acclaim. In 2021, she appeared in the horror film trilogy Fear Street and played the lead role in Taylor Swift's short film All Too Well. She subsequently starred in Darren Aronofsky's psychological drama The Whale (2022), which earned her a Critics' Choice Movie Award nomination. Sink was born in Brenham, Texas with her mother being a math teacher, while her father a football coach. She was interested in performing arts from a young age and began acting in community theater at seven. Her family moved to New Jersey in 2012 to support her acting career. Sink is also known for modeling, having walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week when she was 15. She also identifies as a feminist, and became vegetarian in 2015, and later vegan in 2016. She's also an ambassador for Armani Beauty and is set to star in several upcoming films including A Sacrifice (2024) and Searchlight Pictures's rock opera film O'Dessa.
