Stephen Glenn Martin (known as Steve Martin) is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and musician, born on August 14, 1945. Recognized for his work in comedy films, television, and recording, his accolades include five Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, an Honorary Academy Award, and nominations for two Tony Awards. Over his illustrious career, Martin hosted Saturday Night Live multiple times and received noteworthy recognition, including the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2005, the Kennedy Center Honors in 2007, and an AFI Life Achievement Award in 2015. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked him sixth on its list of the 100 greatest stand-up comics.

In addition to his success in stand-up comedy, Martin's film career includes iconic roles in movies like The Jerk, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Since 2015, he has toured with fellow comedian Martin Short, leading to a celebrated Netflix special in 2018.
