Taron Egerton

**Taron Egerton** is a Welsh actor, known for his remarkable performances in both stage and on-screen roles. Born on 10 November 1989, Egerton kickstarted his acting career after earning his degree from the **Royal Academy of Dramatic Art** in 2012. He garnered significant recognition for his role in the action-comedy flicks *Kingsman: The Secret Service* (2014), and the sequel, *Kingsman: The Golden Circle* (2017). Besides action-comedy, Egerton's talent shines in the realm of biographical films. He portrayed military officer Edward Brittain in the drama *Testament of Youth* (2014), the title character in the sports-focused *Eddie the Eagle* (2016), and even embraced singing to embody legend Elton John in *Rocketman* (2019). His masterful portrayal of Elton John earned him a prestigious Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Despite the accolades, Egerton faced commercial and critical failures with films like *Billionaire Boys Club* and an action-adventure *Robin Hood* in 2018. From 2019 onwards, Egerton continued to display dynamic acting skills. Notably, his role as Elton John in *Rocketman* not only required him to act but to also learn the piano and sing live during each take. The film and Egerton's performance gained favorable reviews and critical acclaim. Alongside on-screen roles, Egerton has worked in voice acting - lending his voice for the animated series *Moominvalley* and *The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance*. His career's most recent highlights include playing American drug dealer Jimmy Keene in the miniseries *Black Bird* (2022), for which he earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and playing Henk Rogers in the biopic *Tetris* (2023). Offstage and set, Egerton is an ambassador for the Motor Neurone Disease Association out of personal connection, having lost a grandmother to the same disease.
