Born in California on September 11, 1987, Tyler Lee Hoechlin, is a distinguished American actor. He entered the world of acting with his role as Michael Sullivan Jr. in the 2002 film Road to Perdition. In television, Hoechlin showed remarkable performances as Martin Brewer on 7th Heaven (2003-2007), Derek Hale on Teen Wolf (2011–2014; 2017), and as an iconic character, Superman in The CW's Supergirl (2016–2019) and Superman & Lois (2021–present).

However, Hoechlin began his career in baseball, starting at the tender age of seven. He played in prestigious tournaments throughout high school, received a baseball scholarship to Arizona State University, and represented the University of California, Irvine, at a national championship. Despite his early dedication to a career in baseball, a hamstring injury forced him to reconsider his choices, eventually steering him towards acting. His accolades and recognition began with the role of Michael Sullivan Jr. in Road to Perdition, earning him international attention and acclaim. His recent roles include appearances in Richard Linklater's Everybody Wants Some!!, the military thriller Stratton, the post-apocalyptic thriller The Domestics, and the CW's series Superman & Lois. In May 2022, he was confirmed to reprise his role as Derek Hale in Teen Wolf: The Movie, where he occupied the dual role of actor and producer.
