On her 43rd birthday, Bridget Jones, portrayed by Rene Zellweger, is woken up by her anxious mother, who gently reminds her that the clock is ticking on her chance to become a mother. Soon after, she attends the funeral of Daniel Cleaver, a character presumed dead after a tragic plane crash. At the funeral, she awkwardly encounters her ex, Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth, who is now married. Their brief interaction is tinged with nostalgia as they part ways.

Bridget is now a television producer, working closely with her friend Miranda, played by Sarah Solemani. On her birthday, Miranda invites her to celebrate, but Bridget declines in hopes of catching up with her old friends. Unfortunately, they cancel due to family commitments, prompting Bridget to accept Miranda’s offer for a weekend getaway. They attend a lively music festival where Miranda dares Bridget to have a fling with the first man she meets. After a humorous fall in the mud, Bridget meets a charming stranger who later helps her out. After a wild night at an Ed Sheeran concert, a tipsy Bridget mistakenly crawls into what she believes is her yurt but actually belongs to the handsome stranger. They spend the night together, only for Bridget to wake up alone and with mixed feelings.

Upon returning home, Bridget attends the christening of her friend Jude’s child, where she is the godmother, and once again runs into Mark, who is the godfather. When Mark reveals he is contemplating a divorce, Bridget and Mark share a passionate encounter. However, feeling apprehensive about reconnecting, Bridget leaves a note for Mark the next morning, expressing how painful it is to rekindle old feelings.

As time passes, Bridget starts realizing she is gaining weight and her friend Shazza suggests the possibility of pregnancy, especially since Bridget used expired condoms. After taking a test at work, Bridget finds out she is indeed pregnant and decides to keep the baby, feeling this may be her last chance to have a child. However, it dawns on her that she doesn’t even know who the father is. Unexpectedly, Miranda spots Jack Qwant on TV, the mysterious stranger from the festival, who turns out to be a billionaire and inventor of a dating app. Together, they concoct a plan to get Jack on Bridget’s show, hoping to obtain DNA samples to confirm if he is the father.

During the show, Jack recognizes Bridget, and she bravely reveals her pregnancy, stating he is the father. In a twist of support, Jack embraces his new role. However, feeling overwhelmed, Bridget decides it’s time to tell Mark. Thrilled at the prospect of fatherhood, Mark is unaware of Jack’s involvement, and Bridget abstains from discussing the DNA test while her baby is still on the way.

As moments weave through her pregnancy, Bridget attempts to juggle her relationships with both men. Inviting Jack to a work event leads to an unexpected dinner with Mark, where Bridget candidly admits her uncertainty about the fatherhood situation. This honesty reveals tensions, especially when Jack expresses his priorities, while Mark walks away upset.

As the delivery date approaches, Bridget faces complications, taking Jack to the hospital as she is unable to reach Mark. When Mark finally arrives, he is confronted with the sight of Bridget and Jack together, leading to a heated confrontation. While Jack makes a revealing comment about their intimacy, it becomes clear to Mark that he may not be the father.

Bridget’s labor is a chaotic affair, where both men support her in their ways. In the heat of contractions, Bridget hilariously punches Jack in pain while reaching out to Mark for comfort. As they await the birth of Bridget’s baby, both men end up bonding over their shared experiences, and they work together to support Bridget through the grueling process.

Finally, Bridget welcomes a beautiful baby boy into the world. Soon after, her friends gather to celebrate, and the suspense around paternity persists, leading Dr. Rawlings to initiate DNA testing with both men.

Fast forward a year, we find Bridget preparing for her wedding. At the altar, she is greeted by Jack carrying their son, and then she steps forward to marry Mark Darcy, capturing the essence of her life’s tumultuous yet fulfilling journey. Mark and Jack have now forged a friendship, sharing a moment as they head to the wedding reception, while Bridget cradles her son, William.

In an unexpected twist, a newspaper reveals that Daniel Cleaver has been discovered alive from the crash, keeping audiences intrigued. The film closes with a delightful post-credit scene showcasing a Christmas photograph featuring Bridget, Mark, and William clad in reindeer sweaters, reminiscent of the charm that defined their quirky romance.
