Louis, a copy shop owner deeply fascinated by the paranormal, longs for an escape from his dull routine. His chance comes when a customer in search of custom signs mentions a mysterious barn rumored to harbor spectral activity. Eager for adventure, Louis gathers an eclectic crew of misfits: Stan, his sorrowful best friend; Zak, his socially awkward nephew; Victoria, a self-proclaimed medium with a regional cable show; Ellie, a beautician from their local strip mall; and Ross, an overenthusiastic security guard. Their objective is twofold: to explore the haunted barn and submit their experiences to the popular TV program “Ghost Getters.” Armed with Zak’s improvised tools, they set out on a Saturday afternoon to uncover the secrets of the ominous barn.

As Louis lays out his creativity by crafting T-shirts featuring their unofficial title, “Ghost Team,” Zak adamantly refuses to wear one. Once they establish their observation area and initiate a séance, they choose to separate and investigate the surroundings. After sifting through their recordings, they eagerly analyze the audio and are ecstatic to uncover something resembling an EVP—a discovery that would intrigue even the staunchest skeptics of the supernatural. Yet, their thrill quickly dissipates when they realize that Victoria has completely vanished. Soon after, Zak, Stan, and Ross mysteriously disappear as well, leaving Louis and Ellie to unearth the true menace of the barn: it serves as a facade for a meth lab run by Mitch—the very customer who ordered those “No Trespassing” signs.

In the chaos that ensues as the team scrambles to evade the raging fire from the lab, they discover that Victoria has become a hostage of Mitch. In a fit of desperation, Mitch compels them to abandon their pursuits and help him escape on his boat, threatening their lives if they resist. However, Victoria’s unique abilities come into play as she perceives that she can convince Mitch she is in contact with his deceased father. This clever ruse gives Louis a chance to strike back with Ross’ paintball gun, temporarily incapacitating their captor. With the lab engulfed in flames, the team makes a hurried escape.

When the dust settles, they manage to reach out to the authorities, who promptly take their statements and apprehend Mitch for his illicit deeds. Through adversity, they have bonded in a way that unites them forever. As they return home, they find themselves singing along to the soothing melody of “Dream Weaver,” pondering over their incredible yet terrifying journey.
