As Nick (actor name) eagerly prepared for dinner with his idol, Jill Goddard, he was instead met with a digital shockwave. A mysterious figure known only as Chord claimed that Jill had cancelled their evening out of the blue and offered him a peculiar consolation prize: a series of hacked live feeds showcasing Jill's every move. The irony was not lost on Nick - it seemed that his secret crush, Jill, was about to become an unwitting participant in a sinister game. As he navigated this surreal situation, Chord hacked into Nick's camera feed and inadvertently broadcast the scene to another room at the hotel, where Tony, Jill's clandestine lover, happened to be waiting for their illicit tryst.

Tony's curiosity piqued by the sudden illumination of the room, he placed a call to the hotel's customer service desk, only to discover that Nick's room was, in fact, unoccupied. The attendant kindly offered him a spare keycard, allowing Tony to investigate further. Little did Nick know, Chord had been guiding his every move from behind the scenes, orchestrating events to culminate in a dramatic showdown.

Meanwhile, a group of French hackers known as Triops began to taunt Nick, mistakenly believing him to be their notorious counterpart, Nevada. Confused and overwhelmed by these digital cat-and-mouse games, Nick found himself at the mercy of Chord's malevolent whims. The mysterious figure threatened to harm Jill if Nick didn't comply with his demands, revealing that the online contest Nick had won was merely a ruse designed to ensnare him in their web of deceit.

As Chord's grip on Nick tightened, he directed the young man to lurk near Jill's residence, flaunting his ability to strike at will. With Tony as his human shield, Chord began to extract concessions from Jill by transmitting painful electrical shocks through her laptop, forcing Nick to act as a reluctant intermediary in their twisted game of cat and mouse.

As Triops reinitiates contact, revealing their enigmatic faces, Nick requests they tap into his laptop, prompting them to sever the connection with Chord and converge on him. This unexpected twist sparks a maelstrom of tension among the Triops members, whose allegiances are now torn asunder. The rift is further exacerbated by the revelation that Nevada, the enigmatic figure behind the hacking collective, was not only their intended target but also a revolutionary force who had hitherto avoided harming anyone. However, Nick's ultimatum – threatening to expose their true faces to the authorities if they don't cooperate – ultimately compels Triops to recommit to aiding him in his quest.

Their joint efforts lead them on a perilous chase, tracking Chord's vehicle as it careens out of control and crashes, with Jill trapped in the trunk. As Nick is pursued by police cars, he too finds himself embroiled in a high-speed pursuit that culminates in a fiery crash. Meanwhile, a live feed from Nevada's servers reveals a shocking truth: Chord and Nevada are two distinct individuals, with the latter being brutally murdered to obtain his servers and exact revenge on Jill for her perceived wrongs.

With Nick lying motionless at the scene of the crash, Chord seizes the opportunity to strike, extinguishing his life. The vengeful perpetrator then broadcasts a live feed featuring Jill, bound and gagged within an abandoned factory, as she faces a ticking time bomb. As millions tune in to witness her apparent demise, Chord demands that viewers abandon the site – or risk seeing her killed. Tragically, fewer than ten percent of the audience heeds his warning, allowing the countdown to conclude.

In a stunning twist, it becomes clear that Jill's death was merely staged by Chord, who now intends to fulfill his twisted fantasy in real life. However, Jill uses this chance to escape, only to be recaptured and re-bound by the merciless Chord. Undeterred, she exploits her captor's momentary distraction to make a bold move.

As Chord receives an unexpected call from Nevada – revealed to be alive and seething with rage – the tables are turned once more. The cunning hacker had been wearing a bulletproof vest as standard procedure, surviving Chord's initial assassination attempt. Moreover, he had overheard his nemesis's plans to turn Nick's website into the most popular online destination ever. With this knowledge, Nevada masterfully impersonates Nick, luring Chord out of hiding.

As Chord rushes back to his hideout, Nevada springs Jill free and sets the location ablaze, allowing them to make their escape through a strategically located bunker. As flames engulf the hideout, Chord meets his demise, consumed by the very inferno he had hoped would destroy his enemies.

As Jill's gaze lingers on the screens displaying the relentless stream of online news reports, a sobering reality begins to sink in: the world has collectively pronounced her deceased. The notion, however, seems almost too fantastical to be true - and yet, the evidence is unequivocal. In this new reality, Nevada's plans to reimmerse himself within the underground hacker community only serve as a catalyst for Jill's own existential inquiry. What, she wonders, lies in store for her if she fails to vocalize any opposition? It is as if fate itself has already begun to answer her query, as the news reports concurrently reveal that the supposed demise of this beloved actress has sent shockwaves through the film industry. Advance ticket sales for her forthcoming movie are skyrocketing, and the public's insatiable appetite for a glimpse into her supposedly final moments shows no signs of abating. Sated by this unexpected windfall, Jill turns to Nevada with an unspoken plea: join me in disappearing from the public eye, and guide me through this labyrinthine underworld where anonymity is the ultimate currency.
