Winning a high-stakes online contest grants Nick the chance to dine with his idol, Jill Goddard. However, his excitement quickly turns into confusion when a mysterious individual named Chord informs him that Jill has inexplicably canceled their meeting. To pacify Nick, Chord sends him hacked live feeds of Jill, who is secretly rendezvousing with her lover, Tony, at the very hotel Nick is staying in. When the lights in his hotel room suddenly illuminate, Tony notices Nick’s hidden camera, which raises his suspicions.

Tony contacts the hotel’s customer service and learns that the room is unoccupied. With the help of a spare keycard, he decides to investigate. Chord manipulates Nick into using a taser against Tony, incapacitating him as Chord’s sinister plans unfold. Amidst the chaos, a French hacking group, the Triops, mistakenly believes Nick is the infamous hacker Nevada and reaches out for his assistance, but Nick is too flustered to engage.

Threats escalate as Chord reveals footage of Nick attacking Tony and insists that the contest was a ruse. The stakes are raised when Chord threatens to harm Jill if Nick doesn’t comply with his demands. Chord orders Nick to hack into Jill’s laptop to enable communication, putting Jill in a precarious situation. Tensions rise as Chord takes Tony hostage, shocking him to compel Jill into undressing for Nick’s signal.

When the Triops reveal their faces during a subsequent conversation, Nick seizes the moment to sever Chord’s connection to him, leading to a intense confrontation as Chord kidnaps Jill, forcing Nick and the Triops to pursue him. They discover that Chord is, in fact, the true Nevada, which confounds their loyalty towards the anarchist hacker.

After a dramatic car chase and an accident that escalates the urgency of rescuing Jill, it becomes clear that Chord’s motives run deeper than mere vengeance. A shocking twist uncovers the true intentions behind Chord’s actions, using Jill as a pawn in a deadly game live-streamed for viewers worldwide. As the situation grows increasingly dire, involving bomb threats and blackmail, Jill desperately attempts to manipulate the situation to her advantage, though her initial escape is thwarted.

The final act sees a furious confrontation between Chord and Nevada, where the stakes culminate in a fiery showdown. In an unexpected turn, Jill watches as she is reported dead on the news, realizing the world is watching her demise unfold in real-time. With opportunities now presenting themselves amidst the chaos, Jill negotiates with Nevada—not just for her escape but for a chance to reinvent herself, riding on the wave of her fake death’s publicity. She prepares to vanish alongside Nevada, eager to embrace her newfound chance for freedom.
