Elijah Wood

**Elijah Jordan Wood**, born on January 28, 1981, is an internationally acclaimed American actor and producer, who first rose to fame with his role as the hobbit Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003). Wood's acting career started with a small part in Back to the Future Part II (1989), after which he gained wide recognition as a child actor with multiple roles, including appearances in Avalon (1990) and The Good Son (1993). His lauded performances continued into his teenage years, with notable roles in North (1994), The War (1994), Flipper (1996), and The Ice Storm (1997). The success of The Lord of the Rings paved the way for numerous film appearances, such as in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Paris, je t'aime (2006), and I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017). Aside from his acting career, Wood also pursued voice roles, notably portraying Mumble in the Happy Feet film franchise (2006–2011), the title protagonist in 9 (2009), Spyro the Dragon in the Legend of Spyro video game trilogy (2006–2008), and Wirt in Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014). He also founded the record label Simian Records in 2005 and co-founded SpectreVision, a film production company for horror films in 2010. Furthermore, he added the title of a disc jockey to his resume, touring globally with his friend Zach Cowie as the duo Wooden Wisdom. Wood's personal history includes his birthplace Cedar Rapids, Iowa, upbringing under the care of parents who operated a delicatessen, and early career steps in modeling and piano lessons.
