Abe Guevara, portrayed by Frank Grillo, finds himself embroiled in chaos when a shootout at a residential home leads to the tragic death of District Attorney Joshua Gregory. In the midst of the pandemonium, Abe attempts to flee the scene on foot, reaching out to his brother Mateo, played by Christian Cooke, as they plan to meet at a designated spot in just two minutes. However, a fateful collision with a car leaves Abe sprawled on the road, and despite Mateo’s desperate view of his brother, he must drive away to avoid the approaching police.

Soon after, Abe is taken to a local hospital where he receives attention. Meanwhile, two homicide detectives, Lt. Regina Lewis, represented by Marcia Gay Harden, and Masterson, played by Boris McGiver, begin their investigation at the crime scene in the DA’s home. Regina reveals her attempt to save Gregory from bleeding to death but admits her failure. As they delve deeper, Masterson uncovers that both Abe and Mateo are mercenaries working freelance for a gangster known as Big D. Their precarious situation is revealed further as Masterson explains that the deceased Gregory was once a DEA agent—and that Abe had offered a deal to the DEA to save Mateo from a lengthy prison sentence by handing over a flash drive exposing corruption within the police force.

Paul Booker, an everyday ER nurse, takes on the task of overseeing Abe’s recovery. However, he soon finds himself under attack in the hospital by a mysterious figure intent on chaos. The attacker is eventually revealed to be Mateo, who is keen on breaking Abe out to settle a debt with Big D. In a desperate move, Mateo kidnaps Paul’s pregnant wife, Taryn, played by Teyonah Parris, forcing Paul to comply with his wishes.

With a thrilling escape, Paul assists in breaking Abe out on a stretcher, narrowly avoiding the grasp of Detective Lewis and Masterson. As they embark on their journey, Abe, now behind the wheel of Paul’s car, devises a meeting with Mateo but soon discovers it’s a trap. A shootout ensues, leading to a wild car chase with Mateo escaping with Taryn.

After a fierce confrontation with law enforcement at a nearby car wash, the duo continues to evade capture. Abe reveals to Paul the existence of the incriminating flash drive that tied them to Gregory’s wrongful death. Their next move leads them to a local gangster named Cheetah, but the detectives, Lewis and Masterson, catch up to them. Tension escalates when Masterson realizes Lewis is one of the corrupt officers on the drive and chaos erupts as she dispatches him and Cheetah.

In a twist of fate, Abe reunites with Mateo only to find him critically injured. As Mateo succumbs to his wounds, Lewis threatens to take Taryn hostage. With critical security footage linking Lewis to corruption in his possession, Abe strikes a deal with Big D to settle his debts in exchange for the evidence.

With a well-planned distraction orchestrated by Big D, Paul and Abe don disguises to confront Lewis, successfully incapacitating her and rescuing Taryn, who is about to give birth. In an intense conclusion, police reinforcements arrive, bringing an end to Lewis’s corruption.

Fast forward one year later, Paul and Taryn commemorate their baby boy Matty’s first birthday, named in honor of Mateo. As Abe looks on from a distance, a sense of hope flickers as he drives into the sunset, the ominous presence of a black SUV shadowing him.
